Overview

A more sporting Multistrada? Almost a challenge given the power of its engine. However, without control, 170 horsepower are of little use other than smoking out straight lines. Since 2011, Ducati has offered a more dynamic version within the MTS family.

This is the Pikes Peak, named after the famous race in the States. In this version, the hyper-trail gains serious off-road capabilities. But Bologna also offers a less frenetic version, halfway between the highly equipped S and the "Pikes". Let's look at the modifications. And it’s there that you understand the machine isn't of the same philosophy.

No Öhlins suspension, nor lightweight forged aluminum Marchesini rims, nor a small racing bubble. The Sport identifies with a "Performance" equipment installed as standard on the S version. This material is also used for the front mudguard.

To assert its identity against a Multistrada V4 S equipped with the aforementioned pack (which it is, in fact), the Sport gains a racing livery and a price advantage of €850. The weight loses one kilogram to present 242 kilograms ready to ride.

In addition to its Sport fittings, this Multi receives all the equipment of the S, namely:

- The large 1158 cm3 V4 with 170 hp and 12.7 mkg- The aluminum monocoque frame- Semi-active Marzocchi Skyhook suspension- Brembo M50 Stylema brake calipers on 330 mm discs- The 6.5-inch color TFT screen- A GPS navigation system- The Ducati multimedia system- Front and rear radars for adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection- The 4 riding modes (Sport / Touring / Urban / Enduro)- An IMU inertial sensor- Traction control- Power modes- Cornering ABS- Anti-wheelie- Anti-stoppie- Hill hold control- Curve lighting- Daytime running lights- The Up/Down shifter- Backlit commodo switches- Keyless start- A USB port in the tank glove box
