Overview
What do you do when your adventurer weighs 242 kilograms and develops 170 horsepower from a 1,158 cm³ V4 Granturismo? You can leave it as it is in its S version, push it to the extremes of Pikes Peak with its forged Marchesini wheels and racing windscreen, or choose the middle ground. This is precisely the positioning of the Ducati Multistrada V4 S Sport: a machine that borrows the complete endowment of the S and grafts on a "Performance" pack designed to recall that Bologna doesn't joke about the word sport.

This pack boils down to two visible elements: a titanium Akrapovic exhaust pipe finished with a carbon fiber tip, and a front fender made of the same material. The Öhlins and the forged Marchesini wheels remain the exclusive domain of the Pikes Peak, as does the racing windscreen. The Sport displays a more equipped, more characterful identity, without tipping into a full-on track machine. For a price of 26,840 euros, you get the complete panoply of the S augmented by these signed accessories.
And this panoply is dense. The semi-active Skyhook suspensions with a 50 mm fully adjustable fork manage compression and rebound electronically. Four-piston Brembo M50 Stylema calipers bite on 330 mm discs with surgical precision. The IMU inertial sensor continuously monitors angles, which allows the Cornering ABS, traction control, and power modes to work with a real context rather than a simple wheel reading. Front and rear radars pilot an adaptive cruise control and a blind spot detector, a rarity on a trail bike just a few years ago. The bidirectional shifter, backlit controls, keyless start, and 6.5-inch TFT screen with GPS navigation complete equipment that the competition, even serious competitors like the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure or the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, struggles to match in this area.
The question of temperament remains. The V4 Granturismo delivers its 125 Nm at 8,750 rpm and its peak power at 10,500 rpm, which clearly places this engine in the sporty lineage rather than in the register of large twin-cylinder engines with massive torque from the bottom end. The seat height at 840 mm and the 242 kilograms fully fueled orient this bike towards experienced riders, capable of exploiting the four riding modes, including Enduro, which remains a promise of versatility rather than a declared off-road vocation.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 S Sport full represents a lucid choice for those who do not want to sacrifice road equipment in favor of purely performance-oriented weight reduction. For second-hand enthusiasts, a well-maintained Ducati Multistrada V4 S Sport used represents undoubtedly the most rational access to this level of electronic sophistication. It is not the most versatile machine in the segment, nor the lightest, but it is probably the one that offers the best coherence between its engine with a declared Italian character and equipment worthy of its ambitions.
