Overview
Who said a trail couldn't have the soul of a sportbike? Ducati, with this Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, answers with a mechanical monster that seems to have traded rocky paths for the white lines of race tracks. It’s a declaration of war on well-thought-out categories, an object that flirts with the Panigale without denying its Multistrada name.

At the heart of the matter is the Granturismo V4 engine, an 1158 cm³ block that delivers 170 horsepower at 10,500 rpm. This is power that places the machine in a territory where few trails, even high-end ones, venture. It produces 124.5 Nm of torque, available high in the rev range, which imposes engaged and precise riding. With a dry weight of 214 kg, it’s not a featherweight, but the mass is well-managed thanks to a monocoque aluminum frame and radical choices like 17-inch Marchesini rims.
It is precisely on the chassis that Ducati focused the most to transform this trail into an attacking machine. The wheelbase is lengthened, the rake is modified, and the ergonomics are revised to lean the rider forward: lower and narrower handlebars, rearward-set footpegs. You can feel that the goal was to bring this Pikes Peak closer to the feel of a sportbike, without sacrificing all versatility. The 48 mm Öhlins inverted fork and the TTX36 shock absorber, both controlled by the Smart EC 2.0 electronic system, offer an exceptional working base, capable of switching from dynamic mode on dry roads to a more supple setting if needed.
Braking is directly imported from the Panigale V4, with 330 mm discs and four-piston Brembo Stylema calipers at the front. It’s a track-ready setup, on which you can rely without reservation, even during intense use. The rear, with a 265 mm disc, completes a system that provides absolute confidence.

But this Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is not just a brute. It incorporates all modern electronic intelligence, with a specific Race mode that refines engine response and limiter management, a recalibrated quickshifter for muscular acceleration, and even the Bosch radar for adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection. Cornering ABS, wheelie control, adaptive headlights, and the 6.5-inch TFT screen with navigation are part of the package. Ducati has even included luggage rack fixings, a detail that almost serves as an excuse, reminding us that the machine can also handle road use.
Priced at 28,990 euros, it is positioned exactly at the level of a Panigale V4 S. This is a bold choice. This Pikes Peak clearly targets the expert rider seeking ultimate performance on the road, without wanting to dive into a pure sportbike, too radical for longer journeys. It is the anti-trail, a machine that prefers the tight curve to the forest path, and proves it with every technical detail. For those who dream of a hypersportive dressed as a touring bike, it is probably the most credible option on the market. For lovers of classic trails, it might seem like sacrilege.
