Overview
Forty years of green-white-red. That is the thread connecting the 750 F1 of 1984 to this 2025 Panigale V4 Tricolore, a limited edition of one thousand units that resurrects a tradition interrupted by the brief transition to the "Speciale" name. Ducati returns to its roots, and the result is a 1103 cc bomb dressed by Aldo Drudi in a decidedly asymmetric livery: one red flank, one green flank, a checkerboard pattern sprawling across the fairings like an aesthetic declaration of war. Provocative, divisive, and consistent with the history of a brand that has never done things by half.

What truly sets this version apart from the Panigale V4 S it derives from is not cosmetics alone. Ducati seized the opportunity to push the braking package to a new technical level: the new T-Drive discs reach 338 mm in diameter at 6.2 mm thickness, where the standard series topped out at 330 mm. The result is improved thermal dissipation on track and greater endurance under intensive use. The Brembo Hypure calipers are titanium-painted, and the MCS 19.21 master cylinder completes the package. On a machine capable of touching 300 km/h, these details are not showmanship — they are vital. The carbon wheels, 950 grams lighter than the standard parts, serve the same logic: reducing unsprung mass so the Öhlins suspension — a 43 mm pressurized NPX 25/30 fork up front and a TTX36 monoshock at the rear — can express its full potential.
The equipment list reads like a Superbike team's inventory. STM EVO-SBK dry clutch, adjustable aluminum footpegs, Alcantara seat, integrated GPS module for telemetry and lap timing, carbon mudguards, swingarm cover, quick-release fuel cap machined from solid aluminum, racing screen. The 90-degree V4 fired in Twin Pulse configuration delivers 216 horsepower at 13,500 rpm and 120.6 Nm at 11,250 rpm from its 1103 cc. By comparison, a BMW M 1000 RR quotes very similar figures, but the sonic character and power delivery of the Bolognese engine remain in a class of their own for those who have had the chance to hear it at full throttle. Five riding modes cover the full spectrum: Race A lets all 216 horsepower flow unfiltered with suspension set to firm track mode; Wet reduces output to 160 horsepower and softens traction management to avoid ending up in the barriers in the rain. In between, Sport and Road adapt throttle response and active damping curves for less committed riding.

The 850 mm seat height and the sheer scale of the machine immediately rule out novice riders. This Tricolore targets a very specific audience: the experienced track rider who wants a machine capable of competing with the best hypersports on the market without getting lost in tuning, and who is prepared to pay €54,000 to join a worldwide club of one thousand owners. A fork yoke engraved with the individual serial number and a certificate of authenticity serve as a reminder at every outing that the machine is, in the literal sense, unique in its specification. The exclusive animation that lights up the instrument cluster at startup is a minor detail by comparison, but it closes the ritual with a certain coherence.

Fifty-four thousand euros is the entry price into the lineage running from the 1098 S to the 1299 R Final Edition by way of the Monster 30th Anniversary. Ducati practices heritage-based value retention with the regularity of a Swiss watchmaker, and buyers know exactly what they are purchasing. The Tricolore is not a road motorcycle in the ordinary sense of the term; it is a collector's object that accepts, provided its rider is up to the task, functioning as a formidable track tool. The trade-off is clear, and so is the price.
