Overview
In 2023, Jorge Martin kept Pecco Bagnaia on the edge of his seat until the final corners of the season. The Madrileño burned his wings on a few unfortunate crashes, but he proved that a satellite rider could look the factory team straight in the eye. Ducati didn't forget that feat, and Bologna's response takes the form of a limited series of 189 units called the Panigale V4 S Martín Racing Replica.

The livery faithfully reproduces the colors of the Prima Pramac Desmosedici GP, but what sets this bike apart from its collector cousins is the extent of the technical modifications. The nine-disc STM-EVO SBK dry clutch replaces the stock unit, the two homologated Akrapovic silencers shed two kilograms compared to the standard V4 S, and the Brembo Stylema R calipers paired with an MCS master cylinder with free-stroke adjustment push an already formidable braking package even further. Rizoma aluminium footpegs and a racing screen complete a picture that carries a distinct paddock fragrance. With 215.5 horsepower extracted from the 1103 cc L4 engine, 123.6 Nm of torque at 9,500 rpm and a dry weight of only 172 kg, performance is in no short supply — the stated top speed of 300 km/h is anything but theoretical on this aluminium semi-perimeter frame.
Carbon enthusiasts will be well catered for. Header heat shield, alternator cover, mudguards, brake line sleeves, swingarm protection paired with titanium hardware: the inventory reads like a bulk order from a competition parts supplier. The integrated GPS module displays lap times and split times directly on the dashboard, for those who wish to make the most of the 850 mm seat height on a circuit.
Ducati has attended to the collector aspect with the same care as everything else. The upper fork yoke features laser engraving including the model name, race number and individual serial number for each unit. The rider's autograph appears on the tank, protected by a clear coat. Delivery comes in a dedicated wooden crate, complete with a personalised cover, a specific key and a startup animation on the dashboard. Each motorcycle is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Ducati has built an object as much as a motorcycle.
The question of price deserves a moment's pause, however. At €68,000 — the same figure as the Panigale V4 S Bautista Replica, and more than double a standard Panigale V4 S — we have clearly left the territory of passionate purchasing and entered that of patrimonial investment. The intended audience is not the weekend track-day rider looking to shave tenths in Superstock, but the collector who thinks in terms of rarity and provenance. With the series limited to 189 units, Ducati has calculated its move with precision. That said, for €68,000 you could also buy a homologated V4 R and fund a full season of track days. To each their own priorities.
