Overview
Forty thousand euros for a Streetfighter V4, thirty thousand for a KTM Super Duke R, and somewhere between the two, at €19,999, sits the 2024 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory, which wonders why we continue to hesitate. Since Noale managed to tame its competition V4 for road use, the question is no longer whether this motorcycle is capable, but how far one is willing to follow it.

The chassis speaks before the engine even expresses itself. Perimeter double beam in aluminum inherited directly from the RSV4 superbike, 43 mm Öhlins inverted fork with 120 mm stroke, Öhlins monoshock at the rear with 130 mm of travel, all managed by the Smart EC 2.0 semi-active system that chooses between three operating modes in real time. This is where the Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory 1100 justifies its premium positioning compared to the version equipped with Sachs components. On the track or on a winding road, the difference doesn't take three corners to manifest. The 209 kg, fully fueled, are forgotten with a disconcerting ease as soon as one starts to load the 120/70 tires at the front and 200/55 at the rear.
The 65° V4 of 1077 cm3 hasn't grown, unlike the new RSV4 which benefited from a larger displacement. This is not a criticism, but an observation. The 175 horsepower reached at 11,350 rpm and the 120.6 Nm of torque available at 9,000 rpm are more than enough to put ordinary pilots in difficulty before saturating the potential of the chassis. The announced top speed of 260 km/h remains theoretical for 99% of owners, but it says something about the deep nature of the beast. Since the 2024 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory, six riding modes are available, including three dedicated to the track, a new generation inertial unit, a widened TFT screen, and a Magneti-Marelli 11MP ECU that manages traction control, wheelie control, anti-stoppie, bidirectional quickshifter, and launch control in a coherent ensemble. Engine braking is now adjustable, which concretely changes the feel when entering corners.
The ground clearance of 825 mm positions this machine outside the beginner territory. It is a roadster for a confirmed pilot who seeks pure sensations without renouncing the comfort of a usable saddle and an 18.5-liter tank that allows for correct stages. Brembo M50 radial 4-piston calipers biting two 330 mm discs at the front are part of what global production offers in terms of road braking. Neither Triumph with its Speed Triple, nor KTM with the Super Duke R, nor even the Z H2 from Kawasaki can seriously criticize this riding position.
Those looking for a used Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory from the 2017, 2018, or 2019 model years will find excellent machines at significantly lower prices, the 2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory technical specifications already revealing a remarkable level of equipment for the time. But the 2024 represents a substantial evolution in terms of electronics and aerodynamics, the integrated winglets generating a measurable downforce at high speed. It is no longer a visual gadget, but a technical solution. For those who want an exclusive, cutting-edge motorcycle, built around a strong-character engine and a no-compromise chassis, the Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory remains one of the most coherent answers on the market. Not the most accessible, certainly not the most docile, but probably the most honest about what it promises.
