Ducati Monster 1100 Diesel 2012 — Specifications

First of all, regain your composure! Take a breath, stop strangling the cat and stop eating the latest issue of ‘gasoil magazine’. This Ducati runs on gasoline, not diesoul (half gasoil / half fuel oil). The 1100 Monster Diesel (pronounce “dizeul”) is a limited series created in partnership with the famous Italian clothing brand.

The denim, perfume, etc. manufacturer had been working with Ducati since 2011 for MotoGP clothing. The association is strengthened today with this military-style Monster. The khaki paint scheme is much more restrained than Diesel’s provocative communication campaigns. The frame, rims, and forks are black, reinforcing the ‘urban chic military’ identity; another pompous term from a cocaine-fueled stylist with an uninterpretable grasp of reality. Dipped in bright yellow, the Brembo brake calipers become the ultra-fashionable touch of this Monster. A series of accessories completes the dressing of the Monster Diesel: a padded seat, strange protections on the exhaust pipes and the instrument cluster, a set of engraved plates covering the tank vents reading ‘only the brave’, a new seat cover adorned with a numbered medallion supported by a ‘Renzo Rosso’; the man who created the company in 1978.

Parallel to this, Diesel presents a new collection of clothing in the image of Ducati. It will be on sale in its stores, on the web, and in some dealerships.
