Overview

When Noale decides to build an uncompromising hypersport, the result is quite radical. Not a motorcycle for everyone. Not a machine designed for the daily commute or Sunday morning leisurely rides. The Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory is tailored for one thing, and it doesn't hide it: to be fast on the clock. Since the move to 1099 cm3 in 19, the 65-degree V4 has gained width without losing its surgical precision. 217 horsepower at 13,200 rpm, 122 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm, all in a chassis that weighs 199 kg when ready to ride. Compare that to the Ducati Panigale V4 S or the BMW S1000RR: the numbers war is tight, but Aprilia plays a different score, more physical, more demanding.

Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory

The Factory version doesn't touch the engine. Unnecessary. What this high-end version changes is the way the power is put down and managed. Forged aluminum rims reduce unsprung mass, which is immediately felt in the speed of cornering. Above all, the 43 mm Öhlins NIX inverted fork and the TTX rear shock receive the semi-active Smart EC 2.0 system, with an OBTi connected interface to the 5-inch TFT screen. Six operating modes, three automatic, three manual. In A1 mode, the electronics are calibrated for slick tires on dry circuit. In A3, it softens for road use. Each parameter, compression, preload, rebound, remains individually accessible to those who want to refine their settings for each session. It's precise, readable, and it works.

The fifth-generation APRC package includes everything one could reasonably desire on a street-homologated motorcycle: bidirectional quickshifter, multi-map traction control, wheelie control, engine braking management, cornering ABS, anti-stoppie, launch control, pit limiter, and cruise control. An arsenal that brings the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory closer to what WorldSBK teams ride, without the constraints of a sporting homologation. Since 19, the RSV4 1100 Factory specification confirms this shift: a track-focused motorcycle freed from the shackles of competition regulations, which can now be fully optimized for the rider's enjoyment.

The aluminum twin-spar frame retains a rare feature in this category: it is possible to reposition the engine, modify the steering angle, and adjust the swingarm pivot point. This level of adjustability exceeds what its Japanese rivals offer. The swingarm itself has been redesigned, with a repositioned reinforcement underneath, which saves 600 grams and increases rigidity by 30%. Braking follows the same logic of excellence, with 330 mm floating discs bitten by Brembo Stylema radial monoblock calipers. At 305 km/h top speed, it’s reassuring. A 840 mm seat height and a short wheelbase of 1439 mm complete the picture of a motorcycle designed for experienced track riders, not novices seeking their first hypersport.

Priced at 23,999 euros for the 2021 model year, the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory price sits at the top of the segment, well above previous versions like the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory 2020. Two regrets persist, however. The standard exhaust, correct but lacking a distinct character, deserves to be replaced, an aftermarket line that many buyers consider from delivery. And the carbon fiber trim, absent as standard, would have reinforced the consistency of a positioning assumed as the best of the range. These are minor points against the overall consistency of the package. The Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory 2021 is not a perfect motorcycle, but it is probably the most accomplished tool on the market for those who want to attack an open track with a production two-wheeler.
