Overview
When Noale decides to play in the yard of homologated superbikes, the result is called Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory, and it doesn't mess around. Since 2006, the 997.6 cm³ V-twin has gained five horsepower thanks to a new electronic mapping and reworked exhaust valves. We now reach 143 horsepower at 10,000 rpm, with a torque of 101 Nm available from 8,000 rpm. On paper, this is in the high average of the segment. On the road, it’s a different story.

What truly distinguishes the Factory from the standard RSV-R is the entire chassis package. Öhlins everywhere, no compromises. The 43 mm inverted fork receives a titanium nitride treatment that reduces friction and improves durability. The rear shock absorber is adjustable in three parameters, preload, compression, rebound, and also in length. A double-chamber steering damper from the same Swedish manufacturer completes the picture. For a motorcycle announced at 185 kg dry weight, the same weight as the legendary RSV 1000 SP competition model, the twin-beam aluminum frame with double inclined traverses has clearly been designed to take advantage of every Newton available.
The forged aluminum wheels deserve attention. Twenty-five percent lighter than their cast counterparts, they reduce unsprung masses and make steering more responsive in changes of lean angle. Shod with Pirelli SuperCorsa Pro tires in 120/70-17 and 190/55-17 sizes, they adhere to the philosophy of the machine: track days on the weekend, road riding on weekdays if you’re brave. The frame features a slightly golden hue that echoes the rims, an aesthetic detail that provides rare visual consistency on a production sportbike.
The list of carbon fiber parts is long, front and rear mudguards, ventilation scoops, fork head deflectors, side tank covers. This isn't decorative carbon fiber to justify the price of 16,849 euros. Each part contributes to maintaining this remarkable dry weight. In 2007, the exhaust outlets were ovalized, a modification that improves gas flow and subtly changes the sound of the V-twin. Since the first versions of the Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory 2004 and 2005 models, technical progress has been constant and methodical.
This kind of machine is not for beginners seeking a first A license. The 810 mm seat height and the announced 280 km/h top speed define a precise buyer profile: an experienced rider, comfortable on the track, seeking an Italian alternative to the dominant Japanese models of the time. On the Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory used market, these 2008 and 2009 machines are now appreciated for their unique character. Enthusiasts looking for Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory 2005 parts or similar years know that interchangeability between generations is generally good, which facilitates long-term maintenance. A motorcycle built with a rigor that many still envy.
