Overview
Small and discreet, the YBR 125 is one of those unassuming machines that want to take you everywhere, all the time. They were once plentiful, part of everyone's daily life. Today, this little Yam urban bike is one of the few Japanese models in this segment. Half-utility, half-friend, it gained style in 2014 with a sharp headlight, sketching a fork head.
This addition gives it boldness again without changing its nature. No other technical modification comes to disrupt its obligations. A simple steel frame, a 4T single cylinder with injection, a luggage rack to accommodate a few items, the YBR 125 just wants to weave through the city. You shouldn’t expect great vigor or bursts of sportiness. The machine is intended to be economical, accessible, easy, simple... the opposite of an R1, and that’s exactly what it’s asked to be. With the arrival of the MT-125, the YBR will have to follow in the wake of a sister with long fangs. But it retains a pricing advantage that is far from insignificant.
