The engine, although less powerful than some, offers a progressive torque curve and a typical twin-cylinder Yamaha sound that will appeal to lovers of traditional sensations. It is an intelligently compromised machine, sacrificing peak performance to gain versatility and daily sophistication. Faced with increasingly specialized competition, the Yamaha XTZE 1200 Super Ténéré remains a reasoned choice, a travel companion more than an instrument of conquest.
