Overview

The Legacy places a particular emphasis on this 125 XSR. Yam' is keen to preserve it and, to do so, validates the machine to Euro5+ while also bringing a new color scheme from 1925.

Since the neo-retro fashion has taken a significant place on the market, many manufacturers have adapted it to their own style. With striking family names like Brownie.Nine-T, Bonneville, Scrambler, Hipster, Bobber, Rider, exterminator, Jean Bombeur, etc… At Yamaha, we entrusted the job to the XSR. In multiple displacements to suit all tastes. The most popular is appreciated in the 125 format, now available in a Legacy version. With a little more cream on the coffee.

The XSR 125 Legacy begins its story with its specific "Legend Silver" livery. A nod to the 1983 XT 500 (one of the trail legends). Understated, classy, more Brandy than dandy - with a touch of provocation on the exhaust. Inevitably black on the XSRs, it is covered with a satin aluminum plate on the Legacy.

Let's move past this detail to get to THE difference of this young firecracker. The wheels! It is the only one in its family to feature spoked rims. Its gold-colored finish recalls that of the 500 XT or certain competition motorcycles from the 1960s and 1970s. Also more recently Kawa W 800 SE, Mash X-Ride, Scrambler Desert Sled.. It does not diminish the effect, enhanced by a road-going reflection also carried by the Metzeler Karoo block tires.

There are not many Japanese new-style-vintage-old-school motorcycles with this type of rims. The XSR Legacy is pleased to stand out even more. Just like its engine. The Yamaha single-cylinder is the only one in its displacement to have variable valve timing. It produces a maximum of 15 horsepower like its direct competitors but its torque delivery is more important at mid-range.

The XSR 125, Legacy or not, presents itself as follows: 4-stroke 4-valve single-cylinder with liquid cooling, steel Deltabox frame, 37 mm inverted fork, a disc brake per wheel, a few 140 kilos on the scale, LED headlights and a round digital instrument panel like its optics. Always the old-school power. And above all a very charming look.

The Yamaha XSR 125 Legacy requires a few hundred euros more than the standard model.
