Overview
Imagine a Yamaha XSR 125, this little well-behaved neo-retro, transforming into a lifestyle accessory for a globetrotting enthusiast of riding spots? That’s the successful bet of this Yard Built project, signed Manon Lanza, alias Allons Rider. Far from showy preparations for salons, this machine breathes usage, the desire to move and combine passions. The result is a custom that makes sense, designed by a rider for riders, especially those who see the motorcycle as a passport to everyday adventure.

The most striking transformation is this skate support integrated into the right side. A brilliant, practical, and evocative detail that summarizes the spirit of the project. It’s not a gadget; it’s an extension of her lifestyle, the promise of chaining asphalt curves with tricks on the pavement. The "brushed aluminum" finish on the tank and fenders reinforces this roots identity, a direct nod to skate trucks, while the gold accents on the forks and chain add just the right amount of flair. The seat, reupholstered in a vintage American diner red, is the icing on the cake, an assumed burst of personality.
Underneath this Californian attire, the mechanical base remains that of the standard XSR 125. Its 124 cm3 single-cylinder engine delivers 15 horsepower, an honest power to calmly initiate on the road without being overtaken by scooters. With a full weight of 140 kg, it remains manageable, and the seat height of 815 mm is accessible. The Deltabox frame, the 37 mm inverted fork, and the 267 mm front disc brake offer a level of seriousness beyond its category. The real technical upgrade comes from the Dunlop Mutant tires, a clever choice for those who want to get away from perfect pavement and seek out a few secret spots, adding a welcome versatility to the preparation.
Compared to a Honda CB125R or a KTM 125 Duke, more oriented towards sport and urban riding, this customized XSR carves its own path elsewhere. It’s not the fastest, with a top speed around 110 km/h, but it’s undoubtedly the most inspiring. It speaks to those, beginners or experienced riders, seeking a second uninhibited machine, for whom the aesthetics, the history behind the motorcycle, and its potential for escape count as much as the technical specifications. It’s an anti-standard motorcycle, a statement of intent on two wheels.

Ultimately, this Allons Rider XSR 125 is more than just a custom. It’s a motorcycle cultural object, successful because it is authentic. It proves that personalization doesn’t need big cubes and crazy budgets, but a clear idea and a true passion. It doesn’t claim to revolutionize technology, but it considerably enriches the small-displacement imagination. A machine that makes you want to hit the road, your skate on your back, to go ride wherever the wind takes you.
