Overview
A sign, a sensation at the edge of your gaze. Could that be where everything is played out? Absolutely not, and yet, it only takes a glance to tip you over. The new 800 Tiger is of this ilk (in XRX and XRT). With few clues to recognize it. While in fact and technique, many things have evolved. Triumph’s mid-size trail bike sets the bar higher, while retaining its silhouette and dimensions.
Triumph communicates a new design for the fairing and revised flanks. We, for our part, saw no difference, apart from the exhaust heat shield and the inclination of the wheel spokes. It doesn't matter, the tigon knew how to please before; it will continue to do so. And even more so for the more upscale versions. It is from the higher finishes that the 800 Tiger reveals its beautiful caliber equipment. LED signature in the headlights, TFT color screen, riding modes, adjustable windshield, backlit switches, cruise control, heated grips, etc...
We will take consolation in other on-board equipment. This XR is equipped with ABS and switchable traction control, an adjustable saddle and handlebars, two auxiliary sockets (12V and USB), and the enthusiastic 800 cm3 three-cylinder engine. Still 95 horsepower, a little more sporty now thanks to a shorter first gear. The lighter silencer has also been revised for a more engaging sound. The detail was not communicated, but Triumph announces more than 200 modifications to the chassis and engine parts.
In XR trim, the 800 Tiger presents itself primarily as an entry-level product. There's the essential, and already ample enough to satisfy those who always ride. But the bulk of the clientele will inevitably be drawn to the other versions.
