Overview
Was the edge of the forest long enough? The Tiger 800 XC clearly had a keen desire to overcome it and return. A marked preference for all kinds of outings, but the encouraging option of off-road tires speaks volumes about its obvious willingness.
Just below, the XC already offers quite a bit to experience nearby and far-off lands. But... to go all the way to those lands over there, some will want an extra dose of comfort. Cruise control, heated grips, adjustable WP suspension, traction control... We won't go over the entire listing. There's no need to dwell on the 200 modifications that Triumph claims for its 800 Tiger either. Let's pay more attention to the extra equipment that the XCA boasts for more intense use. A fairly recent refinement in the motorcycle microcosm: backlit switches. A pleasant little extra at nightfall, allowing easier operation of the onboard controls, including the multi-axis joystick for the 5-inch TFT screen. Then, the seat will find comfort in winter with the heated seats. A surplus of technology is installed with LED daytime running lights ensuring a stronger luminous identity. The Riding Modes are six in number here, namely Off-Road Pro, Road, Rain, Off-Road, Sport and Rider – the latter is programmable. We finish the enrichment with the pair of LED anti-flicker lights, the center stand and the aluminum radiator guard.
More comfortable, arguing a plethora of equipment, more accomplished with increased efficiency on the road as well as off-road, the Triumph Tiger 800 XCA represents the pinnacle of the English manufacturer's mid-size trails. A privileged situation that is paid at a high price.
