Overview

The shine is vibrant, the stature certain, the isolation embraced within this pool of black. With its chrome cheeks, the Bobber “Chrome Edition” allows its tank to express a very significant ornamental moment. He, the bad boy of the Bonneville family, the wrecker of good manners! Here he is, adorned with a high-end finish.

He is not the only one. A dozen Triumphs are part of the Chrome collection. But the Bobber is perhaps best chosen to assert a wild and refined side at the same time. When the mirrored surfaces reflect your gaze, consider the work of the guy who took care of it for hours.

Regarding the preparation before painting for a standard tank, it takes 20 minutes. Here, a craftsman will polish it by hand for 3 hours. Then, the chrome plating stage will require another 100 minutes of work. When I say “the guy’s work,” it would be more accurate to specify “guys.” Only two Triumph technicians in the world can operate the chrome plating equipment.

Among the “Chrome” models, only the Truxton RS has the entire tank chrome plated. For the others, including the Bobber, a dose of paint completes the style. The process then continues with the application of a specific primer, the paint, a final polishing phase, the definitive varnish to protect the whole thing; and multiple phases of control throughout this “creation.”

Hot-rod, distinguished, and also technological, the Bobber also has character beyond the visual. Its 1200 cm3 parallel twin delivers serene power, with plenty of torque in the mid-range. Electronics provide cruise control, switchable traction control, two Riding Modes (Rain / Road), ABS and a daytime LED signature.

The Triumph Bobber is an expression of rebellion with a robe as taciturn as a Harlesden café. Except that the machine is more suited to the City, to suits that like rock; and in this “Chrome” edition, to the reflections of the star system’s flashes. The Chrome Edition will only be marketed during the year 2023. Special series but not limited.
