Overview
Imagine yourself in the city, on a gray morning, stuck between cars. You’re looking for a motorcycle that won’t let you down in traffic, that slips through with elegance without demanding an arm wrestle at every start. In 2015, Suzuki offered an answer with the GW 250 Inazuma Urban, a machine that aimed to be the ultimate stress reliever.

Its 248 cc twin-cylinder engine delivers 26 horsepower, a power that is mainly revealed after 7000 rpm, where the 24.5 Nm of torque finally gives a little kick. You sometimes have to work the engine, because at low revs it prefers discretion. With 187 kg to feed, it will never transform into lightning, but reaches 150 km/h without drama. For the city, this is sufficient, even pleasant. For national roads or the highway, the experience becomes more frugal; the wind quickly reminds you that you are not on a machine built for long journeys. But compared to a noisy 125cc single-cylinder, it offers undeniable versatility and sonic refinement.
The Inazuma Urban’s true playground is the urban space. Suzuki equipped it for this role with a 26-liter top case, a practical center stand, and a small windscreen. These additions come at a price, 4499 euros at the time, which positioned it in a category where the competition, particularly some Honda CB300F or Yamaha YZF-R3 models, sometimes offered more punch for a similar budget. But Suzuki’s approach was different: a civic motorcycle, almost restrained, with a simple steel frame and basic suspension that does the job without fuss.
It’s a motorcycle for the serious beginner, or for those looking for a second machine exclusively for the city. It’s forgiving, it’s light to handle with a 780 mm seat, and its 13-liter tank ensures correct autonomy for daily use. The braking, with its modest discs, is effective without being sporty, just like the 110 and 140 tires. It won’t encourage you to brush the apexes, but it will drive you to work without a drop of sweat.
In summary, the GW 250 Inazuma Urban was an honest, but timid, proposition. It did what was asked of it well, without ever surprising or exciting. In a market where even small displacement motorcycles are looking for character, it remained a tool, reliable and functional, a discreet urban companion that perhaps lacked a little spark to truly seduce.
