Overview

Who would have bet, five years ago, that MV Agusta would end up planting its knobby tires in the adventure trail segment? Yet the Varese-based brand, temple of the sporty triple-cylinder and razor-sharp bodywork, arrives with the MV Agusta Enduro Veloce 2024. A more accessible version of the LXP Orioli, this machine aims to prove that Italian racing DNA can survive an off-road makeover. The gamble is bold. The result, however, is divisive.

MV Agusta Enduro Veloce

First visual contact and the tone is set: the Enduro Veloce looks like no other MV Agusta. Forget the racy sleekness of the Turismo Veloce. Here, the frame commands presence, the fairings envelop, protection trumps elegance. Think more Africa Twin or Ducati Multistrada than an Italian concours queen. The seat height sits at 850 mm in the low position, ground clearance reaches 230 mm, and the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels clearly state their dirt-bound intentions. The design is refined, no question, but this MV Agusta Enduro Veloce has traded the brand's usual grace for an adventurer's build. Purists will cringe. Adventure riders, on the other hand, will approve.

Beneath this trail-ready silhouette, the in-house triple-cylinder grows from 800 to 931 cc. The 124 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and especially the 102 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm radically change the character compared to the 800 engine. MV claims 85% of the torque is available from just 3,000 rpm, which suits a big adventure bike far better than an engine that demands you chase the redline. The counter-rotating crankshaft, cassette-type extractable gearbox, and DLC-coated camshafts: the mechanicals remain refined and compact, tipping the scales at just 57 kg. A bidirectional quickshifter, launch control, and two-level engine brake control round out the package. On paper, this powerplant promises a particularly thrilling MV Agusta Enduro Veloce test ride.

MV Agusta Enduro Veloce

On the chassis side, Varese surprises by ditching its historic tubular trellis frame for a steel perimeter double-cradle, far better suited to off-road demands. The 48 mm inverted fork provides 210 mm of travel, matched by the rear monoshock. Braking duties fall to radially-mounted Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers gripping 320 mm discs: hypersport-grade hardware on an adventure bike is the MV Agusta signature. The Excel Takasago rims in 90/90-21 and 150/70-18 confirm this machine isn't content playing weekend adventurer. The electronics cast a wide net: an IMU, multi-mode cornering ABS with off-road deactivation, eight-level traction control with calibration based on tire type, anti-wheelie, anti-stoppie, and four riding modes. The 7-inch TFT display handles Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and connects to the MV Ride app. Keyless ignition, dual USB ports, backlit switchgear: the standard equipment list is generous.

MV Agusta Enduro Veloce

Then comes the question of the MV Agusta Enduro Veloce 2024 price: €22,600. For a 930, up against Japanese competitors or even the Ducati Multistrada V2, the bill stings seriously. Especially since this version has been stripped of several features found on the LXP Orioli: no panniers, no crash bars, no Akrapovic exhaust, no auxiliary lights. All of that ends up in the MV Agusta Enduro Veloce accessories catalog, and the final tally can climb fast. The 224 kg dry weight doesn't help its case either against a significantly lighter KTM 890 Adventure. So who is it for? The well-heeled touring rider, seduced by transalpine charm and the uniqueness of the triple-cylinder, willing to pay the MV Agusta premium to stand out from the crowd. The MV Agusta Enduro Veloce 2025 and 2026 will need to prove its durability and after-sales network to justify such a price positioning in the long run. The Varese scorpion stings hard, but it stings expensive.
