Overview

A MV-Agusta with an amount of equipment worthy of a Chinese motorcycle for the price of a BMW R 1300 GS without options…. It’s surprising, and yet a fact in 2026. In addition to two new color schemes and a 5-year warranty, the Enduro Veloce is equipped for travel. As standard, you can now count on an aluminum luggage set (39 and 33 liters), crash bars, a pair of anti-fog spotlights, and a center stand. The manufacturer is taking advantage of the new model year to replace the Bridgestone A41 tires with AT41 tires, which are better suited for off-road but still effective on the road. All this without a price increase.

Barely had the dirt had time to settle in the rims of the LXP Orioli when MV-Agusta presented a more affordable version: the 950 Enduro Veloce. There, facing the aridity of the elements, against the times, braving an armada of trails firmly established in the touring-off-road landscape, the Italian scorpion presents itself with conviction. And a wish: to unite the sportiness of Meccanica Verghera with the breath of adventure.

It’s a motorcycle full of confidence, this Enduro Veloce. Strong, tall, shaped like a rock, it is very far from the sleekness of its Turismo Veloce cousin. Its dimensions place it near the Africa Twin, 1200 Multistrada, and Tiger 12. Heavily faired, its design has been oriented by aerodynamics and a constant desire for protection. The design is well-worked, that’s undeniable. But it doesn’t exude the suavity inherent to an MV-Agusta. Fortunately, there’s the historic color scheme to remind us of the parent company.

This county places great importance on a high-end image. That’s why, whatever the expedition, the Enduro Veloce must be glamorous. You can feel it subtly, even if it’s less obvious than on the LXP Orioli; and that you have to go beyond its wrestler physique.

Like the original and premium version, this MV-Agusta surprises with its frame choice. No trellis or extrusions as is customary at Varese for 25 years. No, the technology opts for a double cradle steel perimeter frame, much better suited for loose terrain. The rear frame is removable, the aluminum swingarm, and the suspension is to match. A beautiful 48mm inverted fork, with all the appropriate settings and 210mm of travel. Apart from the diameter, the rear shock shares the same values. Tall stance, the Enduro Veloce! As expected with this type of machine. The seat, perched at 870mm, even though adjustable to 850mm, you’re still going to have to make an effort to get on board. But that’s the price to pay for having correct ground clearance, 230mm, and avoiding being tanked over at the slightest bump. The underside is protected by a perfectly integrated skid plate, but the material has not been specified. A sheet of metal to protect against scratches or a piece of plastic for design?

How much does an Enduro Veloce weigh? 224 kg dry. Not particularly light the machine; you won’t be carrying it like an 890 Adventure. Yet, it often thinks of churning up branches on the center of a track. Action? The wheels show their commitment, voluntary but limited, with 21-inch front wheels and 18-inch rear wheels fitted with versatile tires. The dimensions are those of a large enduro (90/90-21 and 150/70-18), not a mastodon-trail-road. Glamorous: the rims are Excel Takasago, a reference in the field. The braking system is also of very high quality, with large Stylema hypersport calipers. The monoblock 4-piston calipers (note the remarkable radial supports) will put the 320mm discs and road resistance in the pillory.

Moving this machine requires an engine worthy of it. The 3-cylinder is very present (in 800) in the range MV and goes to another level for the LXP / Enduro Veloce. Larger, more powerful, and still very compact, the new 931 cm3 spits out a very comfortable power of 124 horsepower, at 10,000 rpm. It mainly gives much more torque than the 800, with 10.4 mkg at 7,000 rpm; of which 85% are available from 3,000 rpm. Force without having to systematically tap into the high revs, this corresponds much better to the profile of this large trail.

The block retains some of the technical solutions of the 675 and 800 versions, with a counter-rotating crankshaft and a cassette-extractable gearbox. The block weighs only 57 kg, contains camshafts with a DLC coating, and receives assistance from a large amount of electronics. It’s an MV, so it also smells of riding aids and circuit effluvia. Exaggerating? Just look: this motorcycle has a 4th generation EAS Up & Down shifter, a Launch Control, and engine braking control (on 2 levels).

This is just the beginning. In the Enduro Veloce, four riding modes dynamize the pace, namely Urban, Touring, Off-Road, and Custom All-Terrain. An inertial sensor informs the onboard electronics to optimize the assistance systems. They are quite advanced. The traction control has 8 levels of intervention: 5 for the road, 2 for off-road, and the last for rotten weather. It even pushes its sensitivity with the possibility of reacting according to the tire. The rider selects a profile based on a Bridgestone A41 or one calibrated for the AX41, and the anti-slip system reacts accordingly. For the more experienced, it is possible to simply deactivate it. There is also a cruise control, a wheelie control, an anti-stoppie, and an ABS cornering multi-modes. A TT setting with less action on the front, none on the rear; another road with the ABS completely active; and the possibility of completely cutting it but only on the Off-Road and Custom All-Terrain Riding Modes.

To adjust all this, as well as monitor the vital signs of this crawler, a beautiful 7-inch color TFT screen comes to life under the gaze. The graphic themes are numerous, the menus too, the information even more, and everything seems well arranged. The dashboard also manages Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The MV Ride app will allow you to go further in the interaction. Finally, starting is keyless, a dock houses two USB ports (standard and C) and the switches are backlit. Just above the electroencephalogram, MV has provided a small metal bar, to attach a GPS or another trinket (Coyote, telebadge, Saint Andrew’s Cross, photo of the mother-in-law, bakshish for customs, etc.).

Whether for the cycle parts, the electronics, the engine and the equipment, it takes a lot from the LXP Orioli; but to be more financially accessible, it had to trim. In the story, the Enduro Veloce had to forgo a series of elements (including the majority are available as an option). Bye bye luggage, crash bars, knobby tires, reinforced engine skid plate, replica paint, small additional headlights and the bonus box containing (among other things) the Akrapovic exhaust.

That’s it, MV-Agusta has entered the unavoidable segment of GT/Off-Road trail. Like everyone else. Wanting its share of the pie, the firm has lost a part of its grace but not its pretensions. The Enduro Veloce started its career at a high price for a 900 but has since become much more generous. A machine even more interesting to discover.
