Overview
Who would have bet, five years ago, that MV Agusta would end up planting its knobby tires in the big adventure trail segment? Yet the Varese-based brand, a temple of pure-bred sportbikes, arrives in 2025 with its MV Agusta Enduro Veloce, a more accessible version of the LXP Orioli. The gamble is clear: win over globe-trotting adventurers without betraying the competition DNA of Meccanica Verghera. A tightrope act on slippery ground, facing firmly established rivals like the Ducati Multistrada, Honda Africa Twin, and Triumph Tiger.

First visual contact, and MV's understated charm takes a hit. The Enduro Veloce is massive, tall, heavily faired. We're a long way from the racy elegance of a Superveloce or even the Turismo Veloce. The design prioritizes aerodynamic protection at the expense of Italian finesse. That's debatable. On the technical side, MV made a radical choice: ditching the in-house tubular trellis frame in favor of a steel double-cradle, far better suited to off-road demands. The 48 mm inverted fork and mono-shock each deliver 210 mm of travel, enough to soak up rough trails. The seat height peaks at 850 mm, the wheels adopt the classic enduro format with 21 inches up front and 18 at the rear, fitted with Bridgestone A41 tires in 90/90-21 and 150/70-18. The Excel Takasago rims add a welcome premium touch. The braking system makes no compromises: radially mounted Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers on 320 mm discs up front. Superbike-grade hardware on an adventure bike — that's the MV signature.
The 931 cc triple-cylinder engine is the beating heart of this machine. With 124 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and, more importantly, 102 Nm of torque from 7,000 rpm — 85% of which is available from just 3,000 rpm — this powerplant proves far more usable than the 800 in the existing lineup. The 13.4:1 compression ratio, DLC-coated camshafts, and counter-rotating crankshaft reveal a level of engineering that few competitors in this category can claim. The six-speed cassette-type gearbox, inherited from the brand's racing expertise, transmits power through a chain drive. The whole unit weighs 57 kg — a feat for a triple of this displacement.

The onboard electronics would put some sportbikes to shame. Four riding modes, an inertial measurement unit, eight-level traction control that adapts to the type of tire fitted, cornering ABS with off-road deactivation, a fourth-generation bi-directional quickshifter, launch control, and even two-level engine braking control. The 7-inch TFT display handles Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, keyless starting comes standard, and two USB ports round out the equipment. For those looking for MV Agusta Enduro Veloce accessories, note that the base version skips the panniers, crash bars, reinforced skid plate, and Akrapovic exhaust found on the LXP Orioli, but everything remains available in the options catalog.

Now for the sore point: what is the price of a 2025 MV Agusta Enduro Veloce? Expect to pay €19,600. For a 931 cc machine weighing 224 kg dry, that's steep. A Triumph Tiger 1200 or Ducati Multistrada V4 offer more displacement for a comparable price tag, and the KTM 890 Adventure plays in a significantly lighter weight class. But comparing an MV to the competition solely on price-to-displacement ratio misses the point entirely. What you're paying for here is the most sophisticated triple in the segment, a pedigreed chassis, and benchmark braking. The Enduro Veloce will never be a best-seller, and MV knows it. It targets the demanding rider who refuses to ride like everyone else, even on a dirt track. Those eyeing a used MV Agusta Enduro Veloce will likely have to be patient, as production remains limited. This Italian machine doesn't revolutionize the genre, but it brings a flavor that nobody else offers.
