Overview
For custom, cruising, and big-displacement motorcycle enthusiasts, the VN 1700 Tourer strengthens Kawa’s offering. Replacing the 1600 Tourer, this ‘Jumbo Jet’ sits perfectly between the now-defunct VN Classic and the Vulcan Voyager. A small detail appearing in 2015: Kawa customs are no longer called VN but adopt the American designation, Vulcan. And here, the first name is no longer 'Tourer' but 'Nomad'.
With its large 1700 cc twin, the VN… pardon, Vulcan, knows how to attract the eye and the attention of enthusiasts. This Nomad version is predisposed to beautiful rides for two with adequate comfort: rigid side cases, a large windscreen, cruise control, a double set of footrests as large as dinner plates, and a well-sized sissy bar for Madam’s back. A beautiful beast for beautiful weekends without veering towards the exuberance of the Vulcan Voyager, even more equipped and overflowing, more geared towards long-distance trips. Compared to the VN 1600 Tourer, the 1700 features a new chassis, a new engine, a new 6-speed transmission, increased torque and power. It aims to be remarkable, and one can only agree with its superb two-tone color scheme.
