Overview
The little 883 Sportster is entitled to this R version, inspired by American Dirt-track machines. To justify this designation, the mini Harley is adorned with a very nice orange and black décor, a wider handlebar, a two-seater seat, and a stylish exhaust. Power remains unchanged but torque gains half a mkG. Two front discs are tasked with stopping the little player. A figure of speech; the 883 R is mainly designed for leisurely cruising, admiring the scenery as it passes gently, feeling the scent of hazelnuts and the expressive "good vibrations." With its flat handlebar, the R provides a pleasant riding position. The pushrod twin isn't very powerful but that doesn't matter. The sensations, the sound, and its American character are assets far more exciting than a splurge of watts. With the Sportster, it's about cruising and winding roads. More sport is not conceivable - the machine is stable, rigid, and brakes well. The not-frankly-amazing suspension and limited ground clearance will quickly bring you back to a more playful than wild riding style.
