Overview
The little 883 Sportster is entitled to this R version, inspired by American Dirt-track machines. To justify this designation, the mini Harley, especially its tank, is adorned with a very nice racing-inspired decoration, a wider handlebar, a two-seater seat, and a stylish exhaust. Power remains unchanged but torque gains half a mkG. Two front discs are responsible for stopping the little player. Figure of speech; the 883 R is mainly designed for leisurely cruising, admiring the scenery as it passes gently, smelling the aroma of hazelnuts and the expressive "good vibrations." With its flat handlebar, the R provides a pleasant riding position. The pushrod twin is not very powerful but that is of no importance. The sensations, the sound, and its American character are far more exciting assets than a splurge of watts. With the Sportster, it’s about cruising and winding roads. More sport is conceivable - the machine is stable, rigid, and brakes well. The not particularly brilliant suspension and limited ground clearance will soon bring you back to a more playful than wild riding style. In 2014, the MoCo looked at the Sportster family, and therefore the 883 Roadster, to improve braking. ABS is installed as standard and the front brake discs increase from 292 to 300 mm. The brake calipers with larger pistons and the "feel" of the brake should be improved with an aluminum master cylinder. The machine has also gained new controls, a new electrical system, HD Smart for keyless starting, a new exhaust and a gear indicator.
