The Touring range is extensive at Harley-Davidson. Bagger with the Street Glide, vintage in the Road King, classic on the Electra or majestic and quirky in the Road Glide. Its particular face filters its audience, and brings it an indescribable appeal. In addition to a different protection and sense of direction than the Electra. Wait... It's already in the catalog, this Touring!!! Granted, but in CVO version. This is a mix of luxury and exclusivity at a stifling price. A more affordable version would only be more appropriate. Harley has worked a lot on this model, relying on the Rushmore project. The headstock has been profiled for optimum management of aerodynamic flows. To put it simply, without delving into technical documentation: a dose of comfortable air for the rider and another to cool the engine.
An engine not quite like the others in the long line of Milwaukee twins. One of those that provokes the lamentations of the conservatives. The Twin-Cooled High Output Twin Cam 103. Goodness, is this an engine from NASA? No, just a version with liquid (in the cylinder heads only) and air cooling of the 1690 cm3. But Americans like exuberant names. Far from being forgotten, the passenger benefits from a backrest, armrests, and a 25 mm longer and wider seat, also compared to the FLTRXS. The Tour-Pak offers 4% more capacity and opens / closes via a single OneTouch lock, just like the saddlebags and the fuel door. The suspension thinks of avoiding tools: the rear units are adjustable via pneumatic assistance. The machine is imposing, and requires a certain financial commitment. After, as Harley says: "They cross two borders before lunch..."
