Overview
Have you ever imagined what a luxury yacht crossed with a bulldozer and featuring three wheels would be like? No? Then let me introduce you to the Harley-Davidson CVO Tri Glide. It’s not a motorcycle; it’s a statement, a rolling monument of nearly 600 kilograms that defies all economic logic with a price tag approaching 54,000 euros. This is the realm of exceptional objects, the ultimate touring vehicle for those who consider a Gold Wing too commonplace and a simple two-wheeler no longer sufficient.

The heart of this beast is, of course, the mythical Milwaukee-Eight, boosted here to 1923 cm3. With its 106 horsepower and, above all, its monstrous torque of 169 Nm available from low RPM, this V-twin is a locomotive. It propels this mass with disarming nonchalance, almost making the plethoric weight anecdotal. The deep, regular sound is the perfect soundtrack for a transcontinental cruise. It’s the promise of a stress-free mechanical journey, where power is always there, lurking, ready to get you out of an overtaking maneuver without having to downshift frantically.
Harley understood that piloting such a machine requires safeguards. The array of electronic aids, grouped under the name RDRS, is impressive. Cornering traction control and ABS, anti-dribble… everything is there to ensure that this three-wheeler remains docile, even in the wet or on gravel. The suspension, inherited from the high-end Touring models, is designed to swallow asphalt without a murmur, offering limousine-like comfort. For the rider seeking the latest technology, one might regret the absence of semi-active dampers, already commonplace with some European competitors. But a CVO is not sold on a spec sheet; it is sold on emotion and a level of finish.
And there, the Tri Glide explodes the meter. The two-tone paint, the forged Tomahawk wheels, the omnipresent chrome, the perfectly padded seats with exposed stitching, all scream bespoke and the care taken. The equipment is incredibly comprehensive: heated seating, full LED headlights, a 300-watt high-power audio system, and the indispensable 6.5-inch Boom! Box GTS screen that pilots the GPS, music, and communications. With its integrated storage compartments offering nearly 100 liters of storage space, you can leave for a month without an additional saddlebag. It’s a rolling clubhouse, packed with connected technology, up to remote monitoring via smartphone.
So, who is this machine for? Clearly not for the young license holder craving sensations. The target audience is the experienced globetrotter, often of a certain age, for whom comfort, absolute stability, and prestige take precedence over agility. Its master asset, and not insignificant, is being accessible with a simple B license, opening the doors to the grand journey for those who do not wish or can no longer drive a heavy two-wheeler. The CVO Tri Glide is a fascinating UFO. A machine for pleasure, comfort, and getting noticed, whose exorbitant price is just a detail for those who want to own the ultimate expression of touring… on three wheels. It’s excessive, unreasonable, and yet, it possesses an undeniably Harley charm.
