Overview
When Harley-Davidson decided to plunge its hands into the earth with the Pan America, we thought the adventure would stop there. But here's the Custom Vehicle Operations department, accustomed to polishing Road Glides and Softails, tackling the trail bike. A CVO on a trekking motorcycle is surprising, but after twenty-five years of existence, the Custom Vehicle Operations workshop has probably needed to get its tires a little dirty.

The first signature is the paint. A legendary orange hue, with Raven Metallic and Atlas Silver accents on the tank. The carbon fiber medallions, the #1 logo, the CVO 25th Anniversary inscriptions, all of this is to ensure that this machine is never mistaken for an ordinary Pan America. It's a Harley badge, applied to a silhouette that usually prefers discretion.
Mechanically, the surprise lies elsewhere. Traditionally, a CVO means a larger, more powerful engine, the most imposing available from the manufacturer. But here, the 1252 cm3 V-twin remains unchanged: 150 horsepower at 8750 rpm, 128.8 Nm of torque. That's already ample for a trail bike, but one might have expected a small boost, an exclusive mechanical signature. Harley has chosen a different path: that of complete equipment.
The true luxury of this Pan America CVO lies in its luggage. Designed with SW-Motech, the kit includes a 40-liter top case and two asymmetrical panniers, 45 and 37 liters, all in aluminum. We add a large skid plate, triple-function auxiliary headlights, a special seat, a Screamin’ Eagle Up&Down shifter, tubeless spoke wheels, and a list of accessories that transforms the motorcycle into a veritable mobile base camp. The weight takes a hit, with nearly forty kilograms of additional weight compared to a Special, bringing the fully fueled mass to nearly 290 kg.
The price of a 2025 Harley-Davidson CVO Pan America? It is announced at 27,990 euros. A price that directly places this machine in the arena of premium maxi-trails, alongside a BMW M 1000 XR or a Ducati Multistrada V4 RS. For this amount, you already benefit from the semi-active suspension, the 17.3 cm TFT screen, the five riding modes, and all the electronic aids, from the lean-sensitive traction control to the hill-hold assist.
This CVO Pan America is a niche proposition. It targets the adventurous globetrotter who doesn't want to sacrifice any comfort or equipment, and who is willing to pay the price for a complete Harley-Davidson, without going through the accessories box. It is heavy, flashy, and very expensive, but it offers a level of finish and equipment that few trail bikes can match straight from the showroom. A luxury item for those who want to explore the world without ever leaving the custom cocoon.
