Overview

Harley invented the high-performance luxury bagger in 2024 with the CVO Road Glide ST. As the Road Glide has almost always been paired with the Street Glide for decades, it is logical that this sister also becomes a recipient of this mechanical madness infused with desire. The road smells of burning embers with this CVO Street Glide ST.

As a CVO, this machine is both very expressive and exudes high added value. The ST transformation is immediately apparent with wilder colors, a more sporty treatment, a violence in the contours worthy of the mistresses who whip you in the dungeons.

The influence of the "King of the baggers" races is evident in its front fender, the central console, and its forged carbon seat backrest, its solo seat, its Screamin’ Eagle blacked-out exhausts, its petal brake discs, its reduced sound system, its protection pads, and its 10 kilograms less weight. Even before starting, the gasoline seems to boil in the hoses. Then comes the moment when the Milwaukee-Eight awakens. And it is mean.

We find the 121 cubic inch (1977 cm3) block from the other CVOs... with a difference in size. It exchanges the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) intake system for a High Output camshaft. The specific air filter increases airflow by 26%. Harley wanted to prioritize power in the high RPM range with this enormous Big Block. As a result, the 121 HO produces 126 horsepower at 4,900 rpm! Furthermore, the redline has been raised to 5,900 rpm. That’s 12 horsepower gained over the 121 VVT. As for torque, it progresses by 10 Nm. It won’t amuse the gallery with almost 20 mkg in the boilers, and could make beautiful cracks in the road if a few guardrails didn’t watch out. Including a speed limiter. The CVO Street Glide ST is limited to 177 km/h; a speed it can maintain for 25 seconds before the electronics gradually bring the engine speed back to a more "calm" value.

Brembo radial 4-piston brakes, fully adjustable Showa suspensions, 47 mm DLC-coated inverted fork, wider and higher handlebars, "Fast Johnnie" graphics, eagle motifs inspired by the Harley-Davidson x Dynojet Factory Race Team livery... This bagger seems to want to infiltrate the paddocks. Yet, that is not its purpose. Just like the Road Glide ST, it primarily wants to offer a GT experience with both luxury, domination, superior velocity, and more intensity in driving. It will bring a little more firmness than with a standard Street Glide. That’s also what is expected of a model of this caliber. A small sacrifice for more stability and precision.

Is it really reasonable to have such an engine, the largest and most demonic in the range!? The CVO Street Glide ST features 8 Riding Modes to answer that. Including "Track" and "Track+" in addition to "Road," "Rain," "Sport," and the three customizable "Custom" options. All intervene on traction control, engine braking, and throttle response but the "Track" Modes disable linked braking and reduce ABS intervention. The electronic assists also present are rear wheel torque management and tire pressure monitoring.

In a more recreational register, the large 312 mm Skyline screen will offer you navigation, smartphone control, radio, 500 watts of sound including 125 per speaker, and the electroencephalograms of onboard signals. But will they have any importance or even presence when the engine propels you from sensation to sensation in a stretch never seen on a Grand American Touring!?
