Overview
Fantic has come a long way. The Italian brand, long confined to trials and cross-country machines, has decided to play in a bigger league with its Stealth 500. And when you see what it offers for €6,400, you understand that the Italians didn't make the trip to joke around.

Under the 12-liter tank, a 463 cm³ four-stroke single-cylinder engine develops 44.4 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, with a torque of 42.2 Nm available from 7,000 rpm. These figures place it directly in competition with the KTM Duke 390, the Honda CB500F, or the Yamaha MT-03, while claiming a significantly more generous displacement than the latter. The 6-speed gearbox manages the chain transmission, and the announced top speed of 160 km/h aligns with what is expected in this category. Nothing revolutionary on paper, but the consistency is there.
What catches the eye is the steel trellis frame reinforced with aluminum elements, an architecture that evokes sports machines more than entry-level roadsters. The 41 mm inverted fork at the front and the single shock absorber at the rear complete a package that promises dynamism. With only 147 kg dry weight, the Stealth 500 displays a welcome lightness for an engine of this size. Braking is entrusted to Bybre, the Indian subsidiary of Brembo, which guarantees serious quality without driving up the bill.

The commercial positioning deserves attention. At €6,400, Fantic slips into a very competitive segment with a clear proposition: a lightweight, agile, Euro 5+ compliant neo-retro motorcycle, capable of convincing both an ambitious first-time rider and an experienced driver looking for a second, no-fuss machine. The assumed "stealth" design, with this low and angular silhouette, contrasts with the round roadsters that occupy the windows of mainstream dealerships. It is a strong aesthetic choice, which will appeal or leave indifferent according to tastes, but which looks like nothing else in this price range.

The potential weak point remains the distribution and after-sales service. Fantic is building its network in Europe, but the capillarity of a Honda or a Kawasaki is not yet there. For an owner far from an urban center, this is a parameter to integrate before signing. That said, for those who accept this constraint, the Stealth 500 represents a serious and endearing alternative to the uniformity of the large series. A motorcycle with character, built by a brand that has regained its ambitions.
