Overview
When Royal Enfield decides to expand its Meteor 350 into multiple variants, the Chennai brand doesn't hold back. Fireball, Stellar, Supernova, and now Aurora: each name carries an aesthetic promise, an atmosphere, almost a riding philosophy. The Aurora belongs to the register of calm mornings, deserted back roads, and a certain idea of unhurried travel. A deliberate positioning, consistent with what this 349cc single-cylinder knows how to do — which is a great deal, provided you ask nothing of it that it cannot deliver.

Concretely, the Aurora sets itself apart from its siblings with spoke wheels, carefully placed chrome elements, and a seat whose finishing quality stands in sharp contrast to the entry-level members of the family. It leans toward a more assertive neo-retro aesthetic, somewhere between old-school custom and leisure roadster. The package includes a sissy bar, windshield, and chrome exhaust — on par with the Supernova. Royal Enfield has also introduced aluminum switchgear and full LED lighting on this version, details that matter when the asking price is €4,990. At that price, it leaves many 125cc bikes in the dust in terms of visual presence, and occupies a territory where the Honda CB350, sold at a noticeably higher price, faces it with less chromatic character.
Beneath the 15-liter tank, the four-stroke single develops 20.2 horsepower at 6,100 rpm with 28.4 Nm of torque available from 4,000 rpm. These figures won't challenge a Z650 on the motorway, and that's not the point. The 5-speed gearbox complements an engine built for relaxed riding, for miles covered without hurry, with a top speed of 114 km/h — more than sufficient for national roads without being tailgated by trucks. The engine is smooth, low on vibration, and asks nothing particular of the rider, making it a solid choice for A2 licence holders or riders returning to motorcycling after a long break. The low 765mm seat height reassures, the 191 kg weight remains manageable, and the 41mm fork absorbs road imperfections without harshness.
The Tripper navigation system, already present on the Supernova and Stellar, is carried over as standard. This small round screen pointing the way ahead neatly summarizes the target audience: the Sunday ride enthusiast or the casual light tourer, someone who wants to rediscover the pleasure of riding without turning every outing into a logistical expedition. The Aurora speaks to urban riders in search of character, lightweight tourers, and fans of old-school machinery who prefer modern reliability over weekly maintenance on a genuine vintage bike.
What the Meteor 350 Aurora will never be is a motorcycle for the impatient. Its single-cylinder has no aggression, its steel double-cradle frame prioritizes comfort over dynamics, and the single disc brakes front and rear do the job without any particular drama. But within the accessible custom segment, it plays its part honestly: careful styling, a reasonable price tag, and a reliability that has been well established since Royal Enfield overhauled its engines in the early 2020s. For under €5,000, it's hard to find a motorcycle that offers as much visual personality with such ease of handling.
