Overview

Who said a Ducati sportbike had to necessarily tear your arms off and empty your bank account in a single lap? With the new **Ducati Panigale V2 S 2025**, the house of Bologna seems to have taken a smarter, almost reasonable turn, without denying its fiery genetics. We are far from the character beast of yesteryear; here, compromise is called accessibility and enjoyment, without betraying the sporty label.

Ducati Panigale V2 S

At the heart of the matter is this brand new 890 cm3 L-twin. Yes, it displays 120 horsepower, a significant drop in power compared to the old Superquadro, and some purists will complain. But what progress! The torque is more present from the middle of the rev range, variable distribution brings flexibility, and this engine breathes modernity. It loses theatricality, but gains enormously in everyday usability. This is precisely where the true public of this machine is located: the Sunday track day rider who mainly rides on the road, or the young license holder with a well-stocked wallet looking for a high-end sportbike without the madness of the larger V4 sisters. With a weight of 176 kg fully fueled, it proves agile and less intimidating.

Technically, the S version justifies its supplement with a stunning equipment list. The Öhlins fork and shock absorber, fully adjustable, transform the handling, offering a comfort/precision compromise much more accomplished than the standard version. The electronics are abundant: cornering ABS, traction control, anti-wheeling, stand limiter… it’s all there, managed by an inertial platform for remarkably fine interventions. The four riding modes, from Rain to Race, really modulate the personality of the motorcycle. In Race, the 120 horsepower are delivered unfiltered, the ABS is less intrusive, it is clearly the track setting. For sporty touring, Sport mode will probably be the perfect ally.

Ducati Panigale V2 S

So, who is it really aimed at? Faced with a Yamaha YZF-R7 or an Aprilia RS 660, less expensive and more road-oriented, the **Ducati Panigale V2 S** plays the premium and pedigree card. Its monocoque frame, Brembo M50 brakes, and impeccable finish all speak of an exceptional machine. But that comes at a cost, and that's where the shoe pinches: at nearly **19,000 euros**, **the price of the Ducati Panigale V2 S 2025** borders on that of a Japanese liter-class hypersport. You really have to want that badge and that Italian approach to sport.

Ducati Panigale V2 S

Ultimately, this Panigale V2 S is a brilliant and civilized sportbike, much more versatile than it appears. It has traded part of its wildcat soul for efficiency and enjoyment. It’s no longer a motorcycle that dominates you, but one that accompanies you, with class and formidable efficiency. A reasonable choice of enthusiast, or a rational enthusiast.
