Overview
Marc Marquez, does he finally sign his first world title with Ducati in 2025? Regardless, the Borgo Panigale factory has already struck gold with this Panigale V2 MM93, a tribute that smells as much of marketing as of pit lane resin. The principle is simple: take a Panigale V2 S, graft on a few racing-branded parts and coat it with a unique livery, that of Marc's test Desmosedici. The result? A motorcycle that displays a price of €21,990, or an additional €3,000 compared to the base V2 S. The question then arises: what is the price of the Ducati Panigale V2 MM93 in relation to the actual added value?

Technically, we remain in the familiar territory of the 90° twin cylinder engine with 890 cm3 displacement. Its 120 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 9.5 Nm of torque are far from the hysteria of the Superquadro of the V4s, but that is precisely where its strength lies. This engine is more linear, more exploitable, a true partner for those seeking regularity on the track without the permanent bite of a cutting-edge engine. Ducati also insists heavily on the fact that Marquez trains with a V2, thus attempting to anchor this machine in a competitive imaginary. The package is solid: Öhlins NIX30 suspension at the front, single Öhlins at the rear, Brembo M50 calipers on 320 mm discs, and a copious amount of electronics with cornering ABS, wheelie control and bidirectional shifter.
The difference with the V2 S? It is found in the details intended to justify the surcharge. Forged rims lighten the motorcycle by 1.5 kg, an Öhlins steering damper is added, as are racing grips and a taller bubble. All of this is presented as a numbered, but unlimited, series, which tempers the exclusivity aspect somewhat. On the scale, the 175.5 kg fully fueled make it an agile machine, but it faces formidable competitors such as the Yamaha YZF-R7 or the Aprilia RS 660, often more affordable and just as track-focused.

Ultimately, this Panigale V2 MM93 is aimed at the unconditional fan of Marc Marquez or the amateur track rider who wants a bit of the champion's aura without the mechanical demands of a true replica. It is more accomplished than the standard model, but its extra cost seems to pay mainly for the cosmetic details and the small number engraved on the fork stem. A seductive machine, certainly, but whose argument perhaps rests more on emotion than on strict technical rationality. A collector's object, more than a revolution for the track.
