Overview
What if true luxury, on an adventure motorcycle, wasn't simply about having margin? Fuel margin, suspension travel, ground clearance, and even power, just in case. It is precisely this "just in case" philosophy that Ducati has pushed to its extreme with the Multistrada V4 Rally for 2026. You don't change a winning team, you improve it. The result is a machine that, for nearly €30,000, presents itself as the ultimate hypertrail, ready for anything, or almost.

Beneath its apparent familiarity, the Rally has undergone meticulous technical refinement. The major addition is DVO technology, derived from the Panigale V4, which simulates dozens of sensors to fine-tune electronic driver aids. The semi-active Skyhook suspensions also evolve: they can now be adjusted on the fly, independently of the riding mode, and they lower automatically below 10 km/h to facilitate maneuvers. The combined braking system is remapped for a more sporty use, and torque gains two small Newton-meters, extracted higher in the rev range. It is a plethora of details—revised center stand, shifter 2.0, rear disc increased to 280 mm—that aim for a single goal: to make this 240 kg beast more exploitable in everyday use and in effort.
Because it is indeed a beast. Its 170 horsepower V4 Granturismo engine has a fervor that borders on indecency for a trail bike, propelling this large machine with the ardor of a sportbike. The particularity of this version? Cylinder deactivation, active not only at a standstill but also at low speed while riding, a trick to limit thirst when you are content to trot along. Because yes, with its 30 liters of fuel, the Rally clearly targets raids and long crossings, aligning its tank with those of the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure or the Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer. Expect 400 km of range… unless you generously solicit its four-cylinder engine.

The target audience is unequivocal: the demanding and wealthy globetrotter who refuses any compromise on asphalt performance but wants to retain the option of a serious dirt road. Ground clearance of 230 mm and 200 mm of wheel travel at both ends make it a capable machine, especially with its dedicated Enduro mode, which limits power to 115 hp and releases the rear ABS. But let's admit it, its weight destines it more for scenic trails than for technical enduro. Its true playground is the winding road, the chained pass, and the endless straight highway where its radar adaptive cruise control and driving aids transform the journey into a comfortable cruise.

Ultimately, Ducati has refined an already extreme concept. The Multistrada V4 Rally is not a revolution, but a logical and very successful evolution. It accumulates assets: a powerful engine, a giant tank, state-of-the-art electronics, and a plentiful equipment list. Its flaws stem from its qualities: a prohibitive price, a significant mass, and a seat height of 870 mm that will intimidate those of smaller stature. It is the hyper-technological Swiss Army knife of adventure, for those who want everything, do everything, and never ask the question of "what if."
