For a long time, Ducati has honored its most glorious riders with special series. But sometimes, the tribute is paid to illustrious figures who never rode for the brand. Ayrton Senna is one of those figures. One of the most iconic drivers in Formula 1 history left us a long time ago, but his memory remains strong. Outside of his racing seat, Ayrton loved Ducatis. And Ducati returned the sentiment.

Several 916 were produced in his name in the 90s. Then a 1199 Panigale Sraviva kept the flame alive in 2014. This time, it’s a Monster that bears the Senna name. With a vibrant livery, a veritable celebration from end to end of the motorcycle.

The firm from Bologna draws its inspiration as much from the Brazilian flag as from Senna’s helmet design. A dominance of yellow, slightly embellished with blue and green. The seat cover and headlight fairing are matched to this samba air. Pay attention to the S embedded in the blue seat and the motto marked on the tank: “Racing is in my blood.” Not truly a motto; rather the title of the video biography dedicated to Ayrton. Almost a philosophy of existence, which suited Senna particularly well.

Ducati created this Senna limited series based on the Monster SP. The latter stands out with Öhlins suspensions, Termignoni exhausts, lighter parts, and Stylema brake calipers. Here, the equipment goes up a notch with a yellow finish for the Brembo calipers, forged aluminum rims, carbon fiber fenders, an adjustable Öhlins steering damper, machined aluminum footrests, and an engine guard.

Owning a Monster Senna is earned. First, sell an eye to obtain the 25 bricks necessary for its acquisition. Then, be one of the 341 people to sign the order form. This number was chosen to celebrate the 3 world champion titles and the 41 victories of Prost’s best rival. The serial number will be inscribed on a plate fixed to the fork tube.
