Overview
Following the R 1200 GS and the R 1200 GS Adventure, here comes the F 800 GS, which in turn gets a Triple Black version. Every enthusiast of black will appreciate this rugged trail bike’s name, hinting at a special series. Not really… and while the first Triple Black in 2010 was enriched with a few additional features alongside its dark color scheme (3D logo on the seat, special rims, premium package…), this F 800 GS brings nothing more than an additional color. It’s difficult to justify the 300 euros extra asked for this Triple Black. Alongside it, the Trophy series is frankly more exciting.
The F 800 GS leans towards a more "all-road" profile than its siblings. It leaves it to the 1200 to handle the long-distance riders, and to the 650 the more urban side. It, on the other hand, thinks more about having fun on the trails; its profile doesn't deceive: off-road tires on spoked rims combined with a good ground clearance... It gives ideas for rides between the rocks, without going so far as a trekking approach.
