Overview
When Aprilia decides to increase its RSV4 from 999 to 1099 cc, it's not a simple brochure-padding exercise. It's an act of faith in the 65-degree V4 that has defined the brand for years, and a signal sent directly to the Panigale V4, Fireblade, and other S1000RR: Noale hasn't had its last word. The Aprilia RSV4 1100, in its 2024 version, pushes the power to 217 horsepower at 13,000 rpm and 124.9 Nm of torque at 10,500 rpm, all within a wet weight of 202 kg. The power-to-weight ratio is dizzying, and it will take skill to fully exploit it.

What strikes you about the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory 2024 is the coherence of the approach. The winglets integrated into the fairing flanks aren't just for show: they reduce wheelie on corner exit and stabilize the machine beyond 200 km/h, where this superbike clearly feels at home. The perimeter double-beam aluminum frame accommodates a revised three-element swingarm instead of seven previously, saving 600 grams. The 43 mm inverted fork and the single rear shock are fully adjustable, which will delight track riders who like to fine-tune their settings for hours, but may discourage those who just want to ride without getting lost in the details. Brembo four-piston calipers bite down on 330 mm discs at the front; the braking is powerful, progressive, with that immediate bite typical of Brembo combinations on a machine of this caliber.
Electronics are probably the area where the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory most clearly gains the advantage over the Japanese competition. A six-axis inertial platform pilots a complete APRC: eight-level traction control, five-level wheelie control, launch control reserved for the track, bidirectional quickshifter, adjustable engine braking on three levels with consideration of lean angle. Six riding modes in total, three of which are fully customizable. Cornering ABS completes the picture. Faced with this, a BMW S1000RR offers a comparable arsenal, but the finesse of APRC calibration and its integration with Ride By Wire give the Aprilia a recognized coherence on the track, with 590 grams saved thanks to the fusion of systems.

The high 845 mm seat and particularly firm padding clearly sign the contract with the rider. On the track, discomfort is quickly forgotten. On the road, long stages become grueling, and the 17.9-liter tank will impose pauses that may not be welcome when the stopwatch is running. The compact design, with the front wheel clear of the shortened flanks, improves maneuverability during quick direction changes. The Bending Light system, which orients the beams in corners, is a real nighttime plus, often underestimated in comparisons.

The Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory price is listed at 20,999 euros for the 2024 model year, a significant increase compared to previous generations. For reference, the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory 2020 price was around 18,900 euros, and the trend is confirmed on the 2025 models. This machine is unambiguously aimed at the experienced rider, comfortable on the track, who seeks in his road bike a tool capable of following without major modification on weekends at the circuit. The beginner will pass; the long-distance touring rider too. But for those who want the best of European superbike technology in a nervous and attack-oriented package, the Aprilia RSV4 1100 remains a benchmark that neither Stuttgart, nor Bologna, nor Tokyo can dismiss with a wave of the hand.
