Overview
Imagine a block of raw muscle, a power plant on wheels that its creators dared to sculpt for the drag strip. The V-MAX from Yamaha has never been like other motorcycles. With its 200 horsepower delivered at 9000 rpm and 166.7 Nm of torque, it is a declaration of pure force, an antidote to subtlety. It’s not a machine to be tamed, it’s a beast to be ridden, with all the respect and grip that implies.

In 2016, to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of this monument, Yamaha entrusted the monster to the Portuguese artisans of it roCkS!bikes. Their mission? To further accentuate its dragster soul. The result, named CS-07 “Gasoline,” is a radical reinterpretation. They grafted their signature, a hand-formed monocoque integrating the fuel tank and rear section, which refines its massive silhouette and gives it a more retro and sporty stance. The real fuel tank, hidden under the seat, gives way to a faux aluminum tank that serves as a key aesthetic element.
The racing inspiration is palpable at first glance. The Mickey Thompson slick rear tire, wide and aggressive, announces the color: this motorcycle is made for the straight line. The handcrafted stainless steel exhaust, finished with SC Project carbon fiber mufflers, must howl a mechanical symphony to make sports cars pale. They left nothing to chance, equipping the beast with Brembo master cylinders, a K&N air filter, and a plethora of Motogadget components for modern control. The custom leather seat completes the whole with elegance.
Who is the rider of this creation? Certainly not a beginner. It takes a fair amount of experience to tame these 200 horsepower housed in an aluminum frame and channel this power via a shaft transmission, often smoother but heavier. Compared to other overpowered cruisers, the V-MAX Yard Built stands out for its total commitment to raw performance, more than comfort or curves. It’s an exaggerated tribute, a rolling collector's item that celebrates both the V-MAX anniversary and Yamaha’s sixtieth year.
The spray-painted finish, in a white, black, and yellow scheme typical of the 1970s, recalls that behind this technology lies a true work of art. This CS-07 is not a simple custom, it’s a redefinition. It takes the already excessive character of the V-MAX 1700 and fully embraces it, creating a showroom motorcycle that has retained its dragster instinct. It is both beautiful and a little frightening, like any good legend that deserves respect.
