Overview

The Street Bob renews its Special Edition for 2014, with a very different feel from the previous version. The 2013 model stood out not only for its edgy, almost punk style but also for its engine – the standard Street Bob featured the 96 cubic inch engine while the SE version got the 103. This year, no more jealousy, as all Dynas can be fitted, as an option, with the Twin Cam 1690.

The impertinent feel of the Street Bob SE has softened. No more red paint on the spoked rims, nor flame effects. Even the ape-hanger handlebar of the standard Street has disappeared. Instead, a drag-bike element and forward-mounted foot controls (from the Sportster 72) significantly alter the riding position. A rebellious attitude takes over, ending the relaxed feel of a roadster. No longer quite standard, nor a C.V.O. model, the Street Bob aims to be more desirable in this special edition. And for good reason: it draws inspiration from Harley’s Factory Customization program, with some very attractive effects. Forget the spoked rims, and welcome Split Five aluminum wheels with 5 double spokes machined in the shape of diamonds. The machine abandons selfishness by adopting a Badlander two-up seat. The Street Bob SE plays with styling elements with a tank, the forward controls, risers and handlebar from the Fat Bob, a chopped rear fender, and a two-tone "Mysterious Red Sunglo and Silver" paint scheme with hand-applied motifs.

Beneath the stripped-down look of a tough Bobber, the Street Bob belches steel and slaps of a twin with its large and fat 45-degree V-twin. The engine of this FXDBB Dyna develops 76 horsepower at 5250 rpm. The torque, on the other hand, is significantly increased on this version, with 1 mkg more. It peaks at 13.6 mkg instead of 12.6 at 3000 rpm. The machine also gains a few kilos, but should we really attach any importance to that when it weighs 307 units all wet?! This particular Street Bob is destined for only certain continents. Surprisingly, Americans will not see it. Its wheels and chrome will be for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and in limited numbers.
