Overview
It's been 69 years that James Bond has spent his life dying, drinking, seducing women, saving the world, driving sublime cars, and shooting the cameraman right from the opening credits. However, when it comes to motorcycles, he's taken his time getting into it.
James started by riding a Yamaha XJ 650 turbo, ruining a BMW R 1200 C in Goldeneye, riding a Montesa Cota 4RT through the streets of Haiti... This time, he's involved with several Triumphs.
The British manufacturer has become attached to Commander Bond. With two of its models – the 1200 Scrambler and the 900 Tiger – present in the upcoming feature film No Time to Die (Mourir peut attendre), a Scrambler 1200 Bond Edition was created. The 250 copies were all sold but the film's release was postponed due to Covid 19.
Finally, the 25th adventure of 007 is released in theaters in the autumn of 2021 and Triumph returns to the spotlight with a new limited series. But this time, it's the other motorcycle from the film that is given the honors. A Tiger 900 Rally Pro falls in love with the hero, welcomes him with open handlebars and transforms into a Bond Edition.
The trail bike is very dark here. The Matt Sapphire Black finish isn't enough; it also needs a whole host of blackened parts to seduce: the frame, engine protectors, skid plate, headlight support plates, auxiliary lights and fork tubes. This allows the gold letter emblems, including the celebrated 007 logo, to really stand out.
This can't justify the significant increase in price. The explanation comes from the enrichment of the equipment. The Bond Tiger gains an Arrow exhaust in stainless steel and carbon fiber, a pair of Michelin Anakee Wild off-road tires in addition to the original Bridgestone A41s, embroidery on the heated seat, an animation on the dashboard similar to the intro of the films, a certificate of authenticity as well as an upper bridge plate engraved with the serial number. It will be limited to 250 copies.
In this special Bond edition, the Tiger 900 reaches the price of a hypersport. Obviously, the usage has nothing to do with it, nor does the equipment – except for the brake calipers. Let's take a look at everything in this 900 Tiger. A three-cylinder engine with 95 horsepower and 8.9 mkg of torque, long-travel suspension of 230 and 225 mm, Brembo Stylema braking, a 20-liter tank, a 7-inch TFT screen, an Up&Down shifter, tubeless spoke wheels, heated seats and grips, traction control, ABS Cornering, 6 Riding Modes, cruise control…. There’s too much. The complete list can be appreciated on the corresponding datasheet -> During this discovery, how do you want your vodka-martini? Shaken or stirred?
