Overview

It’s the story of a green tea infusion, slumbering on the back of an inky night. Peaceful notes reminiscent of After-Eight chocolates, missing only mint and chocolate scents to escape into indulgence. But beneath the duel of colors, the smells are those of gasoline, a twin, and a certain interpretation of speed. Who is it? It’s the 900 Speed Twin, in its Stealth edition.

A member of the 2024 Triumph collection. Its particularity? Tanks with a black front letting escape a gradient of a specific color. For example, blue for the Bonneville, orange for the Scrambler, violet for the Bobber... It will be a beautiful English green for the mid-range Speed. Nuanced and delicate, this touch of glamour maintains its personality.

Triumph likes to showcase its expertise with its collections. That’s also how its reputation is enriched. Like the “Gold Line” and “Chrome” badged motorcycles, the “Stealth” models will only be available for one year. But before they arrive on the market, let’s see how Hinckley cooks them up.

First step, preparation. The tank is first prepared and painted with a bright silver primer. This allows to enhance the hand-painted work. Second step, the main application. A graphite vignette is applied manually and without interruption from the front to the back of the tank. The application will allow a gradient reacting to the light. Third step, the finish. An intense Candy color is applied in several layers to finish the process and add a translucent touch. One of the most appreciable particularities of the Stealth colors is that they are more or less intense depending on their exposure to light and the viewing angle of the observer.

Thus dressed in “Phantom Green,” the Speed Twin presents a welcome touch of delicacy. Especially for a machine that wants to be the impertinent version of the T100 Bonnie. The appearance is retro with more pep in the lines, the charm side tends towards neo-sobriety, and the vitality is felt with 65 horsepower in this well-exposed engine. Here, you are the opposite of an MT-07. We don’t play the provocation or the joke but the stylish and contained exit. Which doesn’t prevent having a few well-felt assets, like the two Riding Modes, a USB socket, spoked wheels, a disengageable traction control, a refined finish, a seat at only 765 mm in height, all in an easy and not sad ride.
