Overview

The 900 Scrambler adds a good dose of citrus to coffee. Not inside it, but ON its tank. In this Stealth edition, Triumph’s young adventurer sports a rather particular color scheme: a front of Sapphire Black progressively ousted by Silver Orange. What dark and beautiful names, for a machine that will be noticed wherever it is parked.

That’s the paradox of Stealth editions: a “furtive” designation when the painting process attributed to them, and especially the result, are far from discreet – except for the Bonneville T120 Black Stealth. There are eight in 2024 to constitute this collection, available for one year only.

Before rambling from the city to the countryside; or the reverse depending on the mood and the clods of earth encountered, the Scrambler has entrusted its tank to a specialized painter to: - prepare it, with a base coat with a mirror finish, - apply the color gradient by hand, from the darkest to the most colorful, - perfect the whole thing with several layers of translucent and tinted varnish. The final result is not only this bichromatic color chart but also evolving because the intensity of the color varies depending on the light.

Thus adorned, this country roadster will not fail to attract attention. The Stealth edition will require 600 euros more but you are not bothered by that if the 900 Scrambler appeals to you. The entry ticket is in the image of Triumph, and rather robust for an engine of 65 horsepower. But do not compare it to a motorcycle like an XSR 700 or SV 650 Scrambler. The English bike plays in another category, more gentlemanly, less exuberant, with a beautiful mechanical roundness and a formidable charm.
