Overview
When a little-known brand arrives in the 125cc segment with technical arguments that contradict its badge, it’s natural to raise an eyebrow. The Orcal SK01 125 doesn't come from nowhere, but it has all the hallmarks of an outsider who has studied hard. Inverted fork, liquid cooling, Delphi injection signed by a serious equipment supplier: on paper, this Chinese naked strips away the basics of a Yamaha MT-125 or a KTM Duke 125 – but at a price that, logically, should fall below 4,000 euros. The problem is that the technical specifications never tell the whole story.

The 125cc single-cylinder engine adopts a bore of 58 mm for a stroke of 47 mm – a square architecture that favors revs over low-speed torque. With 12.8 Nm available at an unspecified RPM, caution is warranted: on a 125cc, torque is king, and manufacturers who play the short-stroke card (like the former Aprilia RS125) bet on linear explosion but not on punch off the line. The compression ratio of 10.0:1 is reasonable, and Delphi injection generally allows for clean calibration from the first turns. But 159 kg fully fueled is heavy – 20 kg more than an MT-125, 15 kg more than a Duke 125. The six-speed gearbox and chain transmission do not compensate for this handicap during acceleration.
The steel tubular frame is nothing exceptional, but the Orcal SK01 stands out with its inverted fork at the front. On a 125cc, this detail often makes the visual and dynamic difference, even if the adjustments remain basic. At the rear, a hydraulic monoshock, without visible linkages. The front brakes use a single disc with a three-piston caliper – a device seen on bikes with higher displacement, which promises correct bite power, but perhaps a binary feel if the caliper is not well sized. The rear only has a single piston, which is the standard. The wheelbase of 1,410 mm is comparable to that of its competitors, reassuring for stability.
Visually, the Orcal SK01 125 plays the aggressive naked card with lines reminiscent of Asian streetfighters. The seat height at 810 mm is standard for the segment, accessible to average builds. The 15.5-liter tank is generous – two liters more than the average – and promises comfortable range for a 125cc, even if the total weight penalizes it in the city where maneuvers at a standstill become more physical. The tires in 110/70 at the front and 150/60 at the rear are the same caliber as those of an MT-125, allowing for quality rubber to be fitted if the original fitter proves disappointing.
The Orcal SK01 125 will not dethrone the European and Japanese references. Its weight betrays it during acceleration and filtering phases, and the reliability of the Chinese single-cylinder remains unknown. But for a young A1 license holder looking for a sporty-looking motorcycle without breaking the bank, with technical equipment that borders on the higher segment, it offers a contained/price ratio that deserves a closer look. The real verdict will be on the road: if the Delphi injection is well mapped and the chassis does not disappoint, this Orcal could well surprise those who look down on it.
