Overview
Originally, it was just a publicity stunt. MV Agusta and Pirelli wanted to celebrate the Diablo Rosso III tire by creating an 800 Brutale 'Diablo' – a single example, to mark the occasion. But it seems the formula worked well, as the two Italian companies repeated the effort in 2018 with a special series of 800 Brutale RR Pirelli... and again this time with the 800 Dragster RR.
What a splash! As wild as it is noticeable, this motorcycle slaps the moment. It was the Pirelli Design department that took charge of the decoration. The result is nothing short of compelling, with a duo of color schemes that will whip your retina. Because yes, this special series of Dragster 800 RR will be available, as last year, in two colors. The electrified pearl white, tinged with blue, seems ready for a fashion week; the perforated black/gray, infused with ochre vapors, revels in provocation. The detail will nestle into the passionate relationship between the tire and the rim, each being scratched with paint in meticulously proportioned amounts.
Regardless of the color scheme, the Dragster 800 RR Pirelli also aims to enhance its quality with a double-texture stitched seat, a ceramic-based paint resistant to high temperatures on the exhaust pipes, and rubber inserts in certain places. To clearly emphasize the alliance with the Milanese manufacturer, the machine is shod with Diablo Supercorsa SP tires in 120/70 at the front and 200/55 at the rear, while rubber inserts are affixed to the speedometer housing and the base of the fuel tank. Lightning bolts are carved into them, thus recalling their kinship with the tire range.
Lacking innovations in the lineup, we can count on the Varese manufacturer/artisan to concoct special series capable of exciting you just as much as the 3-cylinder engine grips your heart. The boiling 140 horsepower mechanics does not settle for half-measures, enjoys rides with character and straining the tight, sporty chassis around it. An equally ambiguous and appreciable achievement, the price of which will be in line with MV's special series: as unjustified as calibrated on the aura of the brand.
