The colors of America to dress an Italian diva, herself torn between her Russian engagements and her past German romances... A true spy novel. Except that it depicts yet another warmed-over special series from MV-Agusta.
Between episcopal announcements and subdued novelties, the Schiranna manufacturer has been very demonstrative lately, more on form than substance. It no longer even bothers to create new special series but subtly enhances previous ones. The sparkle is there, with a conjecture-tinged panache. The superb and delectable 800 Brutale RR emerges from a barely closed drawer, sporting the America decoration, with scents of the country beyond the Atlantic. The eye is flattered by the same graphic design of the Brutale America (without the RR) from last year, previously used by the 750 S of 2005, borrowed from the magnificent robe of the S America 750 of 1975.
Under the Uncle Sam’s shawl, the mechanics have turned spicy. Here, we are entitled to 140 horsepower and a more refined finish. In addition to the decoration, the 800 Brutale RR America flaunts a red stitched saddle, an 'America Special Edition' guard on the radiator fairings and a starry banner with MV-Agusta’s world titles (counter still on the number 37). Technically, we find the specifications of the 800 RR, served with vigor, namely a rage-filled 3-cylinder engine packed with electronics, a chassis sharing a steel trellis frame / aluminum plates, a 43 mm Marzocchi inverted fork and a Sachs shock absorber (adjustable everywhere), a monobrach, beautiful Brembo brakes, a singular triple exhaust outlet and an intoxicating character. The plate is beautiful, the dish tasty, but obviously without much creative effort.
