Overview
Refined, improved, and subtly aged since its revival, the Moto Guzzi V7 III has embraced a clear desire for personalization. Evidently, the Stone, Special, and racer versions are no longer enough. It wants to show everyone that it would make an excellent starting point for various custom projects. Yet, within the family, this Carbon edition has something particular.
Of course, its appearance and name immediately identify its belonging to the dark and spirited machines of Mandello. With its red valve covers and depth of black, the V7 III Carbon joins the MGX-21 and Audace Carbon clans. A totally assumed provocation, intended to highlight certain elements. The red also takes over the front brake caliper, the V7 III logo, the eagle on the tank, and the stitching on the embossed saddle. The latter is covered with new waterproof Alcantara. To justify its name, this V7 features a few carbon fiber parts, such as the front and rear mudguards, as well as the airbox side covers. Guzzi specifies a more important concern for finish on this model, with black anodizing for the aluminum fuel cap, the covers on the intake manifold, the headlight brackets, and the rear brake master cylinder (though I see it grey...).
But that’s not why this V7 III is more different than the other versions. But because it’s the only one that will be produced in a limited series. In exactly 1921 copies. Which corresponds to the year of creation of the manufacturer. Nostalgia, when you hold us… To conclude the authentication of this motorcycle, a numbered plate secures the handlebar to the risers. A feeling that will only be confirmed once the transverse twin is started. Not very powerful (52 hp) but you don’t get a Guzzi for its power. You embrace a history, an art of living with ease. Without forgetting a dose of surprising technology on the least-cylindered model in the range: 6-speed gearbox, shaft drive, two-level traction control, and MG-MP platform as an option – to allow the Guzzi to communicate with a smartphone.
