Overview
Initially, a Scout is more geared towards cruising than sport. When it comes to muscular dynamism, Indian tends to offer the FTR. But it doesn’t intend to be confined to that stereotype. Riding less reasonably and seeking to shake up every outing, these are the aspirations of the 1250 Scout Sport.
It’s not here to joke around. First, showing a light stance with dried-up fenders, like on the Bobber. Then, covering itself provocatively with a small fork head and asserting its audacity. Quite a bit of black on the engine and exhausts to evolve in the taciturn… and finally changing the front-end spirit to rumble.
With 150 mm handlebars, the arms dominate the road, looking down on it. The Sport Scout also differs with a 19-inch front wheel for a defined steering feel and a chunkier seat to better secure the posterior. Its body is in every respect identical to that of almost all other Scouts. A new steel tube frame replaces the aluminum structure of the previous 1133 models, accompanied by a larger and more powerful engine. With more bore and quite a few modifications, the SpeedPlus delivers 1 mkg more than its predecessor. 11 mkg of American force, at hand, surrounded by a power of 94 horsepower (105 in 2025, which is 10 more than the 1133 block).
But the Sport Scout isn’t here to play streetfighters or sharp blades. Its appearance plays more on style than function. It’s closer to a grumpy bobber and a bar bouncer than an athlete full of nerves. If you want more muscular, more aggressive, more hard, there is a higher echelon: the Scout 101. The engine delivers a few extra horsepower, the chassis is much more technical and the design voracious.
The 1250 Sport Scout is sold without frills, without fancy technology or distractions. Black, just an ABS, a speedometer with a needle and that’s it. However, if curiosity pushes you towards the finishing levels, you will discover traction control, 3 Riding Modes (Touring – Standard – Sport), cruise control and a USB port with the "Limited" pack - and two purples to acquire it. Doubling the extension, the Scout gains a 4-inch color TFT screen, keyless start and the possibility of being restricted in A2. Strange logic at Indian: you’ve just passed your license and you’re obliged to take the most expensive if you want a Scout... Many European and Japanese machines show more generosity in terms of equipment.
The Sport Scout takes over from the Rogue, with an extra dose of technology (optional). It doesn’t quite join the sporty ambition of its 1934 ancestor, the one that was intended to replace the 1928 Scout 101 and which allowed Indian to fight on equal terms with Harley. The historical rivalry still exists; the Scout doesn’t want to calm spirits.
