Overview

Who would have bet that Harley-Davidson, the empire of chrome and folklore, would end up converting to touch screens and sensors? The 2020 Road Glide Limited is that motorcycle. It proves that the MoCo can, when it really wants to, build a touring bike that doesn’t just blow hot air with its style. Behind this shark nose that has defined its silhouette for decades, it now hides sophisticated electronics worthy of a BMW. The RDRS system, with its cornering ABS, traction control, and intelligent linked braking, is a serious response to modern requirements. This is far from a simple mechanical trinket; it's a machine that wants to protect you, even when you're a little too enthusiastic with its Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine.

Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited

This 1868 cm3 V2 remains at the heart of the matter. With 165 Nm of torque available from 3000 rpm, it doesn’t ask you to force it. It gives. A Honda Gold Wing or a BMW K 1600 B will develop more power, but they require you to rev higher. The Harley, on the other hand, propels you as soon as you open the throttle, with that feeling of constant, deep push that is its signature. It swallows highways with sovereign authority, its cruise control activated, its 132 liters of luggage filled, and its passenger conversing via the integrated intercom. The weight, announced at nearly 407 kg fully fueled, disappears after just a few meters. The motorcycle becomes fluid, stable, a vessel for long crossings.

But this Road Glide Limited is not just a road beast. It's also a high-tech gadget. The 6.5-inch Boom! Box GTS screen is the control center. Navigation, music, motorcycle information, everything goes through it. And with the H-D Connect service, you can monitor your motorcycle from your smartphone: fuel level, alarm if it is touched, battery status. A subscription is required after the first year, around 14 euros per month, and a network connection, but that's the price for this digital peace of mind. It's a fascinating paradox: a machine rooted in a very strong visual tradition, which embraces the tools of the 21st century without complex.

The target audience? The hardcore Harley touring rider, the one who wants the prestige of the brand and the image of the Shark Nose, but who refuses to compromise on modern safety and comfort. He will pay the price, 29690 euros, to obtain this synthesis. Compared to a Road Glide Standard, the Limited adds the 18-inch Slicer II wheels, specific badges, and all this electronic equipment that makes the difference on a long day of travel. It is the most complete, most accomplished Harley touring bike. It limits nothing, except perhaps your desire to go home.
