Overview
It almost seems like a hoax, and yet it is indeed here. Imagine for a moment: a Harley that turns its back on sparkling chrome and flowing lines, to sport a streetfighter look that smells of hot asphalt and hot oil. That's the shock caused by the Bronx 975, a roadster that seems to have been designed in a secret garage by engineers in rebellion against the Milwaukee heritage. With its stocky appearance, visible V-engine, and aggressive attitude, it has only one goal: to brawl in the mid-size roadster category, a territory dominated by the Japanese and the Italians.

The heart of this metamorphosis is the brand new 975 cm³ Revolution Max twin-cylinder engine. Liquid-cooled and opened at 60 degrees, it promises 115 horsepower and 94 Nm of torque, figures that perfectly match those of a Yamaha MT-09 or a Kawasaki Z900. Final transmission by belt remains a nod to the house DNA, but the rest of the technology screams modernity. An inverted fork, Brembo brakes with radial calipers, a swingarm that would have its place on a European machine… We are at the antipodes of a Sportster. The announced price, around 13,000 euros, clearly places the Bronx in the arena of premium roadsters, where it will be necessary to fight on pure performance, not folklore.
So who is targeted by this atypical Harley? Certainly not the explorer of national roads or the custom aesthete. The Bronx directly targets the urban and sporty rider, the one who seeks a raw character and an engaged riding position, but who remains curious about the aura of an iconic brand. The test of the new Harley-Davidson Bronx 975 will be crucial to verify if this promise of liveliness and nervousness is kept, or if the weight and habits of the house end up weighing down the gesture.
The bet is bold, perhaps even risky. In a tense economic context, postponing its commercialization in favor of the Pan America trail shows the brand's priorities, but also the doubts. The Bronx 975 is more of a statement of intent than a simple model; it is proof that Harley-Davidson can, when it wants to, step out of its comfort zone and design a machine that makes people dream beyond the circle of initiates. Remains to be seen whether the public will follow in this Bronx, far from the beaten paths.
