Overview
Who could possibly need 423 kg and a 1,868 cc V-Twin to go on vacation? Fans of American-style grand touring, the kind of riders who consider an 800-kilometer ride nothing more than a warm-up. The 2022 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited FLTRK is built for this tribe of long-haul tourers, ready to write a check for 32,690 euros to get their hands on Milwaukee's flagship.

This Limited picks up where the former Road Glide Ultra left off, adding an extra layer of refinement. 18-inch Slicer II wheels front and rear, heated grips as standard, dedicated badges on the fenders, and Pin Striping trim inside the fairing. The 22.7-liter tank remains unchanged, which, for a machine of this size, means regular fuel stops. As for storage, the two saddlebags and Tour Pak offer 132 liters of capacity. Enough to pack everything needed for a two-week road trip without compromise.
Under the hood, so to speak, the Milwaukee-Eight 114 produces 87 horsepower at 5,020 rpm. A modest figure compared to the Honda Gold Wing Tour or the BMW R 1250 RT, both of which deliver significantly more power. But the Harley plays on a different field: torque. With 158.9 Nm available from just 3,000 rpm, the 45-degree V-Twin pulls hard and low. No need to wring out the six-speed gearbox — the belt drive devours miles with a deep rumble. Top speed maxes out at 170 km/h, which is more than enough on the highway but confirms this machine has never claimed to be a sport bike.

Harley-Davidson has made a notable effort with onboard electronics. The RDRS package, short for Reflex Defensive Rider Systems, includes two-mode traction control, cornering ABS, lean-sensitive linked braking, a slipper clutch, and a hill-start assist. Features that BMW or Ducati have offered for years, but that were rare in Milwaukee's catalog. The Boom Box GTS infotainment system, controlled via a 6.5-inch TFT screen, handles GPS navigation, radio, music, and phone calls through voice recognition. The H-D Connect app lets you monitor the bike remotely: fuel level, battery charge, and theft alerts. The service is free for the first year, then billed at around fifteen euros per month.

On the road, the Road Glide Limited stands out thanks to its fairing mounted to the steel double-cradle frame rather than the fork. The "Shark Nose," that distinctive split snout, cuts through the air without transmitting turbulence to the handlebars. The 49 mm telehydraulic fork and twin rear shocks deliver decent comfort, although the suspension lacks the fine adjustability offered by a Gold Wing Tour with its double-wishbone system. The seat, set at just 735 mm, makes the bike accessible despite its considerable weight. Braking is handled by three 300 mm discs with four-piston calipers — an effective setup, though heavily taxed by the machine's overall mass. Against the competition, the Road Glide Limited positions itself as the most distinctive GT, the most culturally defined. It will never be the most agile or the highest-performing. It is made for those who want to travel with a certain idea of motorcycling, where style matters as much as the destination.
