Overview
Can a Streetfighter be refined? That’s the question posed by this 2026 Ducati Streetfighter V2 S, a machine that seems to have traded some of its original wildness for a bespoke three-piece suit. Beneath this aggressive bodywork and cutting lines, the heart beats differently: a 890 cm3 L-twin cylinder, delivering 120 horsepower at 10750 rpm and 93.3 Nm of torque. Figures that, admittedly, make few supercars envious, but which mark a clear step back from the previous model. Ducati has chosen reason, sacrificing horsepower on the altar of homologation and, probably, accessibility.

The big news is the arrival of Swedish gold. For the first time on the “small” fighter, the 43 mm Öhlins inverted fork and the single shock absorber of the same brand are standard equipment. It’s a huge qualitative leap, an argument that alone justifies a look at the S version. Combined with a monocoque aluminum frame and Brembo M50 radial monoblock braking, the chassis promises scalpel-like precision. With a weight of 175 kg fully fueled, this Ducati Streetfighter V2 S displays a formidable theoretical agility, far from the somewhat heavy brutes of yesteryear.
The electronics are not to be outdone, with a range worthy of a grand guignol: cornering ABS, traction and wheelie control, lap time limiter, and even self-cancel turn signals. The motorcycle is delivered in strict single-seat configuration, a deliberate choice that underlines its rider-focused character. To carry a passenger, you will need to dig deep for the optional kit. A detail that says a lot about the target audience: the Sunday track day rider or the demanding urban dweller seeking pure sensation, without compromise.

At nearly €18,000, the price is high, but it is justified in the face of competition. Compared to an MV Agusta Brutale 800 or a KTM 890 Duke R, the Ducati Streetfighter V2 S 2026 plays on a different register, more premium, more accomplished in its finish and image. It no longer has the raw power of a Triumph Street Triple RS, but it offers in return a pedigree and a chassis of superior sophistication. It’s a machine for those who want to show off at the café, but also attack a mountain pass with surgical precision.

Ultimately, this generation is a paradoxical evolution. It has lost some of the pure madness that it has gained in civility and technology. The less powerful engine is more linear and probably more usable on a daily basis. The Öhlins chassis is a dream. But we will miss the slightly rogue soul of the old ones, their unpredictable side. This Streetfighter V2 S is a superb motorcycle, terribly effective and desirable, but it resembles a tamed wildcat. It has the fangs, but it wears a titanium leash.
