Overview
Who said a Scrambler had to necessarily smell of dirt and gravel? With the Urban Motard, Ducati takes a sharp turn and brings its most relaxed family back to the asphalt. We are far from the Desert Sled, this explorer of dusty trails. Here, the message is clear: the city is our playground, and we are going to disrupt it with style.

The first undeniable clue is its footwear. Farewell to block tires, make way for Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires in 120 at the front and 180 at the rear, serious components for a roadster. These tires grip the asphalt like a glove, announcing sporty intentions. The well-known 803 cm³ L-twin engine delivers its 73 horsepower with that rumbling and lively character that always brings a smile. It is sufficient to have fun without becoming unmanageable, an ideal dosage for the demanding urban rider. The braking system, with its 330 mm front disc pinched by a radial Brembo four-piston caliper, inspires total confidence when you need to slow down sharply.
The chassis has been reworked for agility. The wheelbase, reduced to 1436 mm, is the shortest in the range, and the rake reduced to 94 mm promises quick steering changes. The 41 mm inverted fork and the single shock absorber, with 150 mm of travel, are tuned for the road, much more than the off-road setup of the Desert Sled. As a result, this 196 kg motorcycle (fully fueled) weaves through traffic with disconcerting ease. The seat height of 805 mm remains accessible, even if it imposes a certain presence.
Visually, Ducati embraces a provocative street-art aesthetic. The graphic paintwork, the stitched red saddle, the lateral number plates, all of this is striking and a clear nod to the supermotard world, without falling into parody. We find the Scrambler codes: the 13.5-liter tank with interchangeable plates, the famous X in the headlight, the short rear end. The electronics remain minimalist but useful, with cornering ABS and a USB socket under the seat.
Who is it for? For the young urban rider who wants a motorcycle with a unique look, lively for daily commutes and capable of a few follies on the mountain road on the weekend. Its price of 11,590 euros places it in the premium roadster league. It doesn't have the raw madness of a Hypermotard, nor the off-road capabilities of a true scrambler. But that's precisely its charm: it's a characterful machine, perfect for those who want to stand out without compromising on the pleasure of riding on pavement. A declaration of love for the city, signed Ducati.
